Note: This feedback is specific to Brookdale Wake Forest Memory Care (aka Clare Bridge) After a four year stay at Brookdale, we reluctantly moved my mom to a new facility after significant declines in nearly every aspect of services. Resident care by staff - met expectations Facility - recent renovation was superficial, growing concerns about maintenance of infrastructure, carpet soiled, unpleasant smells Business administration - poor Turnover of key personnel - high Cost - highest by far of the 12 alternatives evaluated prior to move

Brookdale Wake Forest had better outdoor space than the other place I visited. The interior was more open, and not much difference in the floor plans of other places. The staff made us feel welcome. They were knowledgeable, informative, helpful, and understanding. They were very professional, very personable, not judgmental, and helpful. When you're doing something like that, being helpful is more important than just about anything else. They are pet friendly. They had 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. They provide 2 meals a day. There's an efficiency, kitchen-type thing. If you want to do your own breakfast, you can do that. However, if you want dinner or something like that, it's better to have that on the meal plan, I think. I like the location, the yard space, and the floor plans. The whole thing was good.
Read moreWe liked Brookdale Wake Forest and it was a good option. Brookdale was a little far away distance wise, but clean, bright, lively place. The other concern was they provide no transportation. My loved one is a dialysis patient and needs to go 3x/week.
This facility was always fairly clean. The staff was very friendly. It didn't have that nursing home feel like so many others do. It was a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

We really like the staff a lot, but there have been a lot of changes and turnover. They have overlooked baths and the medication was a mess for a couple of weeks. They give the meds so late that by the time they get to her hall it it 10 o'clock. She does complain a lot about the food as well. They do not get a lot of meat and she said they seem to be cutting back. We do wish that they had coffee available to the residents. The snacks that they load in the dining room are almost always empty. The facility itself is very clean and we really like it. It looks like a big house. The activities director is very enthusiastic. They do a lot of activities, we wish that she would participate because she would be a lot happier because they are great. The receptionist [name removed] is extremely helpful and empathetic. Really all of the staff have been great. Overall we do really like it, there have just been some bumps. I would recommend that people check Brookdale out, the medication management is the only issue we have had.
