We chose Brookdale Tyler South for my mother because of all the places we toured, it was the only one that had a private room and we liked the way the place looked. Mainly what I looked at is their activities, because my mom is a very social person and they seem to have activities mostly all day long. They have games, like bingo, and they have socials. I know on Taco Day, they had tacos. They have movie nights and they just have several different kinds of activities. I had lunch with my mom one day and it was very good. She's only been there maybe a month, but the staff seems very accommodating, helpful, really nice, and caring.

Brookdale Tyler South was nice. It was clean and up to date. My dad was in a double occupancy room and when you walk in, it's just one big room. His room had a toilet and a sink that he shared with another gentleman. The room itself was nice and big. They watch TV and do sing-alongs. The issue ...

His room had a toilet and a sink that he shared with another gentleman. The room itself was nice and big. They watch TV and do sing-alongs. The issue we had was with the staffing. My dad had an aggressive episode and we're not 100% sure what all happened, because they will not come forth and give us the information we've requested on this episode. There was a dispute between a resident, my dad, and one of the faculty members.

Brookdale Tyler South was very nice and it was just clean. I like the activities that they provided. And the people that gave us the tour were nice. The thing I liked best was that they had prepared activities for the residents. The thing that I like the least was, we toured a semi-private room. And it was just a big room with two beds jammed, and nothing was dividing it in two. The staff people were very nice, we didn't meet that many of the staff, just the person that gave us the tour and the main administrator. It was nice that he took the time to come in and talk to us. He was very knowledgeable. The location is convenient. It wasn't hard to get to and was easy to get to.

It's small, and there are only 46 residents. It's all on one floor, and it's very secure. His room is clean and small, but it's okay for him. I chose it also because it's only memory care, and it's not mixed with assisted living. The meals are okay. It's just so expensive.
