From The Community
Nothing says "home sweet home" like cozy spaces and being surrounded by people who make you smile. At Brookdale North Oaks, we strive to help seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia flourish with a memory care program that’s rooted in a person-centered approach. You’ll find our campus tucked away in North Oaks, Minnesota, just a stone’s toss from scenic local parks.
Our memory care campus was designed with safety in mind from the ground up. A 24-hour security system is installed on the grounds, and we also have care staff on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency.
Safety comes first, but that doesn’t mean we’ve skimped out on comfort or fun. Here, your loved one will enjoy a private apartment that feels just like home. All apartments are designed with a private bathroom, spacious closets, and windows that let in plenty of natural light. Your loved one is encouraged to personalize their apartment with familiar furnishings, family photos, and treasured keepsakes. We’re also a pet-friendly community because we know it just wouldn’t feel like home without your loved one’s favorite furry companion.
Your loved one will enjoy a daily structured path of engagement that is designed to strengthen cognitive, physical, and social skills. This includes activities like clustered group discussions, art therapy, and walking groups. Paired with this, we also create a robust community events calendar filled with fun activities like:
-
Tai chi
-
Volleyball
-
Community game night
-
Painting class
-
Woodworking class
-
Bingo games
-
Baking class
-
Puzzles and coffee

Everyone at Brookdale North Oaks is very friendly and kind. They are very competent and keep us informed of Dad's progress and status. I would recommend the facility to other families.
The community here is small, so that is helpful for those in memory care. Staff here have been so kind and respectful and treat my husband very well, but as I mentioned, lots of turnover happening which makes things not run well.
The staff is amazing. They are so caring for both my mother and me. The facility is clean and well kept. I never hear my mother complain about the food and she is very picky. It is just a great place!!
The staff members are very nice, but the quality of the meals could be improved according to our loved one

The community is occasionally short-staffed, like other communities are. They do a good job in trying to cover all aspects of the jobs needed to be done to care for the residents. There are three meals a day served, and there options available to choose from. In addition to meals, the community provides snacks to the residents. Some of the activities available include: musical entertainment, exercise programs, and more for the residents to engage with.

We liked Brookdale North Oaks. It seemed like a nice, clean, kind of bright facility. They had courtyards which are pretty nice for people to get outside. The rooms were decent-sized. They showed common areas, places where you could have a birthday celebration or that type of thing or if they had family come, and bathroom shower areas they set up separately from the rooms just for safety purposes. Everything looked good.
