If it sounds too good to be true, we have wonderful news. You can enjoy all of that — and more — at Brookdale Monroe in Monroe, Washington.
Because our campus offers care for independent living, assisted living and memory care, you can rest easy knowing your address won’t have to change even if your healthcare needs do. Having your own custom care plan means we can simply make a few changes, and you can continue living in the community you know and love.
Whether you need help with bathing, dressing and other daily living tasks or could use gentle guidance and reminders over the course of the day, we’re always here to help. Our staff is even available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency.
It doesn’t hurt that our team handles all the household chores either. Now you’re free to spend your days however you wish. Independent living seniors may want to go on weekly excursions while assisted living residents join in campus hobby clubs and league competitions. Our memory care residents have a series of planned activities each day designed to give them a sense of purpose and belonging while maintaining their current skills.

We toured Brookdale Monroe for my dad. The facility was clean, bright, and well cared for, and all of the residents in the memory care were clean and dressed nicely. Activities were going on. They had their own gardening area for those that like to plant flowers. It was just a good experience. The woman that assisted us was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and explained everything so well to us. The dining area was wonderful. For people that are in assisted living, their dining areas are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so anyone can come in and sit down and look at the menu or choose what has been prepared for the day. It was a nice dining room. The staff were friendly, too.

Brookdale Monroe is probably at the top of our list. That's the one we would probably recommend at the highest level. The staff was very caring. We saw residents sitting around in a kind of little common area. They seemed to be chatting and enjoying their time together. And there's kind of a courtyard outside where it's kind of a rainy day, but it's still kind of nice outside. There weren't a lot of people out there. Most of them were sitting inside, and the staff seemed to be caring and accommodating. Brookdale looks like a nice spot. The rooms have their own bathrooms, and not shared. They have a variety of rooms, it depends on what's available. I think they have up to two-bedroom situations. They have a little activity, like a little area with exercise equipment and things like that. They got common areas and a nice little common area with a fireplace and all that.

My first choice would be the Brookdale Monroe because they had cottages. I like the idea of a cottage separate from everybody for independent living. They also had assisted living. They have outdoor spaces. Their library was separate from everything else like the living room or gathering room, and the library was a fairly good size. They also had a billiard area, which most other places had. The person who gave the tour gave good information. It was not something she normally did because we just walked in without an appointment, the gal who normally does the tour was busy with somebody else. She was not that knowledgeable, but it was not her job.

I toured Brookdale Monroe for my dad, and it was very clean and seemed to be a happy place. The staff was excellent. The bathrooms in the rooms were large and spacious. The rooms were carpeted, but I think they should be hardwoods. They were clean and well taken care of. But my biggest thing was the big bathroom; that was nice. I have not tried their food, but I saw it and it looked good. The dining area looked great. It was very clean and well thought out. I liked that they put live displays of each meal out. When I went in there, there were lots of folks out doing group activities. They have patios, gardens, and very well-maintained grounds.
