Brookdale Kettering was very nice. It was just a lovely place. There are plenty of places for people to go and do stuff. The staff was professional and very nice. I liked that each of the residents in the independent living had an external exit and an internal entrance to their place. They have a little outside patio, and it was screened in. They have a couple of different floor plans to choose from. The facility was very clean and spacious. The dining arrangement was very nice.

I toured Brookdale Kettering. The facility is older. They didn't have all the services. They had independent living and assisted living. They didn't have memory care. However, I had a pleasant visit. The lady I met was fine. She was very cordial and helpful. I saw the dining room, and that was nice. I visited an apartment, and the only thing that I was concerned about is they have a screened-in porch, it's three steps from your living room down into it, and I didn't like that. I wasn't overall impressed with the facility. If I'm looking at that and I have any physical issues, that would be a concern, going down three stairs. However, the price was reasonable. It was in my ballpark.

We chose Brookdale Kettering in 2022, which we regret. It is NOT a community we would ever recommend for assisted living. There are consistent problems with keeping reliable, well-trained staff and responding in a timely fashion to calls from residents in assisted living. I don't think it's managed well. Sales director and assistant director are very good, however.

I wasn't impressed with the rooms. They were very small, and they didn't have enough storage. For extra money, I could have rented a storage downstairs, but I didn't want to do that. We weren't interested at all. The staff who gave us the tour was very nice, very friendly, and very helpful. However, I didn't see any of the residents walking around. The whole area was empty. The staff said they had activities. They mainly had board games, card games, and that kind of stuff. They had an exercise bicycle, but it was out in the hallway. In a different hallway, they had another one, but you had to stand out in the hallway to use it. No TV, no music, or anything to go with it. The dining area seemed very nice. It was large with tablecloths, napkins, and flowers. It was past dinnertime, so they sent us some food home to try. The food was very good.

The staff at Brookdale Kettering was professional, courteous, and willing to answer questions. I saw their common areas, areas where they have crafts, and the library. I saw the dining area, and it looked nice and clean. I didn't taste any food. I saw the menu and it looked like they had a lot of nice variety. I think that they need to do some updating. They need a facelift somewhat.
