We toured Brookdale Kenosha. It was beautiful. It was very clean. It did not smell. The staff there were very attentive. Even the administrative staff were very attentive to the people that reside there. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable about the facility and even about the residents that reside there. The dining area looked nice. I liked how they have three separate levels of dining rooms and how they have a couple of different family rooms. We could go in there with our own food and have a quiet family dinner if we chose that facility. There appeared to be a small event like a music type of group. They all looked like they were having fun.

My husband stayed at Brookdale Kenosha for a week. The staff members were awesome. They took care of my husband. His room was very efficient for him. He didn't need any extras in the room because he would get into them, like lamps, extension cords, and anything like that. They cleared all that stuff out for me. They left his TV on the channel that he liked and took the remote control out of there. They did everything that I asked them to do, so that he would be comfortable and not hurt himself or do anything. They had activities every day for him. They would keep him up to date with what was going on and happening in the world. They would also do different games to keep them active. They had music. The grounds were very nice.

We toured Brookdale Kenosha. It was very nice. It wasn't as fancy as the other places that I've seen, but I liked the fact that it was all memory care. In a lot of places, the memory care section is a locked door separate from the general population, but there, because it's all memory care, they're all the same. The whole facility is theirs. They're not just locked away somewhere. The staff were very nice. Sharon was nice. The woman at the front desk was very helpful also. At least three different times like when we first got there, when we left and when we were walking through, I saw the woman at the front desk interacting with the residents like helping them make phone calls and different things, which was nice to see, too. They were interacting with them. The residents weren't just kind of walking around and doing their own thing. They had a group of residents that were doing exercises in a room. There was a woman that was like putting together a puzzle in a nice sunroom kind of area. Everyone we encountered was nice. I think the apartments were all studios, at least that's what we saw. They're a little bit on the smaller side, but they all have their own bathrooms and showers. They're doable. They were nice enough. The dining areas are in the center of the facility. They are segregated a little bit according to function or the ability of the residents so that they don't have residents that need to be fed with independent residents. They kind of cluster them together. They have like three different dining rooms, but they're all kind of open to each other visually, but not necessarily like a big room. There was a group of residents doing their chair exercises. The staff was just coming back with a snack cart to give them snacks and stuff. They have like a PT room, a salon, and those types of things. They have some outdoor space, too, but not like what my mom has at the other place. It was just more like a community/courtyard kind of thing that was all fenced and safe.
