A family member spent two weeks here for physical therapy rehabilitation after an accident and was discharged today. It was the best decision that could have been made! The staff care was excellent, physical and occupational therapy staff were exceptional as was social worker Claudia. My family member also said the food was excellent and this compliment comes from a good cook. The facility is clean and other residents that I saw looked well cared for and content. There is no question in my mind that the progress made in just two weeks’ time was due to the care received at Vero. If someone is looking for a short-term physical therapy rehab facility, this is the place to go! (And, after spending over 30 years working in healthcare, I’m picky about the care that my family receives.)

April who has given me great advice and encouragement. And then there’s Betty who is an angel on earth and we are so lucky to have her helping my dad. And we can’t forget Tamika! We love you girl! There are so many more, I can’t remember everyone’s name but I know their faces and I won’t forget them for their help. It does take a village.

My brother was there and got terrible care. I have found him with urine dripping off the bed. And when I asked for him to be changed, one little frail aide changed his whole bed by herself. I don''t blame the staff...they do horrible work for little pay. They are very understaffed and each time I visited, there were different employees. No info was passed on from shift to shift. And we were told he was being gotten up in chair 2 x a day. Came to find out, he had not been up in weeks. Maybe months. I would never have known but he had a young roommate who told me. Needless to say, that was sorted. He does not speak and has been tube fed for years. Appalling care. Was moved to another facility which does not reek of urine and feces and is being very well provided for.

Worked here a few times when it was my last option and will never be back! Would definitely not recommend for any family member. If you love yours please find another facility!! This one is run down and dirty. Having 1 person to put a resident on a hoyer lift and expect them to be rolled down the hall to the tub on that lift!! Not safe at ALL! Not counting the med errors talked about by ALL staff while working there. Several nights that residents asked for food only to go to kitchen and them tell you they burnt all the food and will have to wait till the next day for it!!! Please re-think before putting your loved ones here as they will not me loved and cared for!!!
