I went to Bethany Living thinking that they offered respite care, but they have permanent tenants or clients that stay there. There were seven residents and three care providers. The food smelled amazing and looked good. The residents that I spoke with were very happy and well cared for. The place was clean, and I liked it. It was a good community in a good area. It just did not offer what we need. The staff members were very friendly. They were dressed in uniforms. They were very polite and very comfortable. It was a private setting, which I like. I did not have a meal, but I went at dinner time, so I got to see the food. It smelled like family food, not like when you go to a nursing home or a center. It was nice. I saw the patient rooms, the bathroom, and the yard. I drove through the neighborhood.

This was a daughters worse fear. My mother had been at Bethany living during Covid and had bruises on her, not minor ones. I can share pics if you request. No one could explain it. When I went to visit my mom and ask about it she would flinch. The owner didn’t care about her she was only concerned about her cable box. At one point they even took toilet paper from my mom. Please don’t send your loved one hear, especially if that can’t communicate When reported the ombudsman found many ways to cite them

Please don’t take your loved on here. Their is hardly any air conditioning. The staff is ALWAYS leaving and the owners don’t care. My mother was neglected here and it broke my heart

A relative of mine was a resident for several years. During her stay, we found the limited staff of 2-3 nursing assistants to be significantly overworked and undertrained, particularly when dealing with those suffering from cognitive decline. While the home was relatively clean, the thermostat was locked, preventing access by the nursing assistants to make adjustments. In the summer, it felt like a sauna, and in the winter, it was so cold heavy clothing needed to be worn. Activities were very limited inside, and there were no opportunities provided to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. The owner lacked sensitivity to the residents, was cold and maintained a distant posture, only considering financial interests that benefitted her. The care of my relative was not just disturbing but bordered on the criminal given the discovery of various stages of unexplained bruises on her body. There were no reports of injuries made, and some appeared consistent with the use of physical abuse. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS HELLHOLE!
