Two months ago my family and I had to make the difficult decision to find an assisted living place for our loved one. From the moment we walked into Belmont Village Senior Living San Jose, we have felt at home. When we toured the location they explained everything in detail from the size of the rooms, to the meals, to the extra incidentals and all of the activities that are offered. When our loved one transitioned from a rehab facility, all of the staff at Belmont made it feel like a tight community. Everyone on staff, from the Pals to the nurses, the therapists and kitchen staff, they all make this a safe and loving place to live. Our loved one states that he feels like he fits in. Belmont Village San Jose was a beautiful place. I would rate it 100% all the way around, but it was very expensive. The staff was wonderful and the food was wonderful. They served salmon. The common spaces were nice. I just could not afford that place.

They showed us the restaurants, the activities that they had there, and the pool. It was very nice.

My aunt stayed here for a couple month respite. The staff was incredibly kind and patient and our aunt has cognitive issues and late stage breast cancer and can be a bit challenging. Most of the staff have been there many many years. They were positive and cheerful and bent over backwards to make her comfortable. From the kitchen and activity staff , the front door staff and the drivers were all wonderful too. The staff in the wellness area was very attentive as well. We ate meals with her a few times and we found the good to be quite good. My only constructive feedback is the downstairs floor plan with the dining room connected so closely to the lobby. It feels awkward and like I was in a fish bowl when dining with my aunt.

I visited Belmont Village San Jose. I didn't care for it, it's a seven-story high-rise, and it's an older facility. It's 20-something years old. They have an underground parking garage, and when we got there, there were hardly any available spaces. They said it was because we got there during shift change. When we did leave, we noticed there were a lot of empty spaces available about an hour after the shift change. The rooms were pretty typical. They were adequately equipped, and have the things that all the other places have. We only met with the marketing people. It's like living in a high-rise apartment, you have to take the elevator to get everywhere. They have a craft room, a rehab exercise room, and a movie room that was more like a day room where they had a large TV. They said they had bingo, live music, entertainment, and so forth.
