I did a tour of BeeHive Homes of Gainesville. Their hallways were wide, so you could have two-way traffic. Most of the other houses are kind of small, and sometimes people have to wait to go around you. But these hallways are wide, and the receiving area when you first come in is very comfortable. You could see the people fixing the meals in the kitchen, and they were just a small, quaint place. I was really impressed with the rooms. They were very large. The owner was very kind and considerate. She walked us through the financial aspects of it, and it's a private pay facility, so I understand that. But the amount that they wanted for that facility was excellent because there's only like 20 residents there. The ones I saw, they were well-groomed. We went about almost near supper time because that was the last place we visited. But mom said if she had to go in, that's where she wants to go. The nursing staff that I saw and the ladies fixing dinner were very professional. They all had gloves on while preparing the food, and at that time they were wearing masks. Everybody was asked to wear a mask. Some of the clients were looking at them prepare food, it was really nice. The staff was kind, and they tell them what they're having today. I really like it. The place definitely has no odor, it's just like if you're going to a clean home. The floors are clean, and the lighting was really good.

I put a deposit down the Beehive Homes because I think it was small, I think 19 or 20 people, and my father said he wanted to go somewhere with less people. When the time came and they had a room opened he said he didn't want to go and that he's not moving. I got to go and tour Beehive Homes, it looked really nice. I was hoping my dad might want to go there, actually. It looked like everything was going to be real good there too. He might change his mind down the road, I hope. The rooms looked really pleasant, neat and tidy. The room is about the same size that my dad has now which is good for a single person, not a shared room. The staff was really nice, pleasant and helpful. I took a look at the menu and it looked pretty good too. I really like the place. I told my kids, "Okay, I'm going to sell our farm here and I'm going to move to Beehive Homes because it's smaller, neat and tidy." The lady that took my information and gave me the tour, she was really nice and helpful.

We visited BeeHive Homes in person. Everybody was fine, and everything went well. They all did a great job at showing what they have. These facilities all have same things, but pricing were different, and the facilities were different. They all have basically the same stuff. They have a dining room and kitchen, and they all have a beauty shop. It's just a question of your budget and what you can afford, and the room sizes. They do assisted living there, and they are making an addition to have memory care which should be completed this summer. The dining area was clean, it was open and well-cared for. The staff keeps the table clean. The meals looked more than adequate. We were actually there when they were serving lunch. I didn't eat there, I just saw them while they were serving the residents. The outdoor right now at the Beehive Homes isn't much because they're under construction. They're building, and they're going to have better outdoor facilities once it's done in the summer. The facility is very clean.

Mother moved into BeeHive Homes of Gainesville. It's beautiful, and the staff is remarkable. They're very knowledgeable, they seem very concerned and loving towards each patient. I've watched them, and I watched the residents interact with them, and their demeanor is so pleasant. Last night my mom came in, and they had told me that she hasn't been eating at all, and Nana fixed my mom some quiche, and my mom ate every bit of it, so it's not like standard institutionalized food, she really tried to find something that my mother would eat. It was amazing. Ms. Nana actually asks them what they want to eat, and they still have a menu that they can go by, but if for breakfast they want scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, she does that, if they want bacon instead of sausage, she does that. She always goes above and beyond. It's super clean, everything has its place, the dining room was that way also, the kitchen was immaculate, and they're very accommodating to all of the residents. They give them the option if they're gonna sit in the dining room, or if they wanna eat in their room. They talk to each person individually and serve each person individually.

BeeHive Homes of Gainesville was a smaller community, and it was very cozy. I don't think it was right for my parents, but I really liked it. It was very homey, and they had an open kitchen; you could watch them cooking. They had an outdoor garden. However, they did the Covid testing every two weeks, and they did it through the nose, and I know my parents wouldn't go for that. It's like coming to your grandmother's house. It's comforting, it's decorated like a home, and it's not institutional like. The dining area had a few tables in front of the kitchen, and there were people ready to eat when I went there. The staff was very friendly. It's mostly assisted living, but they have a bracelet that the memory care people have, that if they go near a door that they shouldn't be going through, it won't open.
