As she showed me the available studios, I met the maintenance man cleaning one and he was very personable. Sally also showed me a lovely one bedroom in independent living at Castle Pointe. Sally answered all my questions and was responsive to my phone calls.

I’m giving this place 3 stars, the staff gets a solid 4, the place itself is 3.5, but the management a 2… Changes are actively taking place at this location last time I checked (hopefully for the better). The nurses were always understaffed and hr was terrible and inefficient which would result in unsatisfied staff. I hope that the nurses get better treatment, and that the hr head got changed. The dining staff were nice, and dessert was served 2 times per day + snacks. But the kitchen manager was bad, made the job harder for cooks/servers, and wouldn’t order all the ingredients on time so menus were often tweaked so residents would get upset (at servers instead…) I heard he got removed though, along with other troublesome staff (corporate finally stepped in). Besides all the (hopefully past) management issues, this place is nice, the view is beautiful, the food is decent, and the nursing staff are kind people. The residents themselves are nice & talkative, they will befriend your family member (I recommend having them join the others in the dining room to socialize). The only thing besides management I want to be changed is the activities, they bring residents on outings, and every week a music performance is held, but besides that the in-facility activities were minimal and not that broad.
