I had been a resident at Atria for two years. These were very difficult years for me but was finally able to move on both mentally and physically with the help of the facility’s staff. From senior directors to the daily staff and servers, they challenged me to be a better person. I cannot emphasize how important this is for any resident and would encourage anyone to make this their home!

My mom has been at Penfield Willow Ridge (then Atria Penfield) since January 2021 and they have been nothing but accommodating in every way. Although the name on the sign has changed, the staff and faculty are still outstanding! When my mom needed a placement, I called 5 different Communities and was having no luck until Meghan Fix (who was very considerate and helpful) recommended this facility. Jeanette Cooper was Unbelievably Amazing! She was kind, caring, sympathetic to my moms (and my) needs. She immediately was very eager to help to make sure my mom became successful. Nicole Gardner came and interviewed my mom and our lives have never been better! Gina and Nicole are very quick to call back and discuss any problem that I may address. Jason is INCREDIBLE with my mom and all the clients, they respond to him and he can work wonders with them. He has been able to bring my mom out of her room and join community activities more, which was a concern for me. His comment to me was “I love them” and it shows!!! I am so glad he has joined the Penfield family. Lynn is remarkable and makes sure my mom showers.The staff go above and beyond to make her comfortable, satisfied and very happy!, including asking what meals she likes, setting up her cable with phone, arranging her furniture, fixing a grandfather clock that she broke, taking care of the dog food so she doesnt over feed him, help finding a mobile pet groomer, going into her room several times to fix the Alexa that she keeps touching which disconnects it, even shoveling a snow path to the window so we could have a window visit (because of Covid we couldn’t go inside to see her), changing her laundry day to the day I’m there (whenever that may be), and there is so much more. I am still very happy that this is where my mom calls home and can''t say enough about the time and care they give. She tells me every day (at least 3 times a day in one conversation) how awesome the faculty and staff are, how they walk on water for you and how happy she is there!! THANK YOU, Penfield Willow Ridge, you are truly phenomenal!!! Once again, the Village at Penfield/Willow Ridge has come to my rescue! My mom fell in August and was taken to Strong Hospital. Strong’s social worker was trying to send my mom to any rehab facility. To assist me in finding a reputable rehab, Nicole Gardner called Strong’s social worker. She also reached out multiple times to Clifton Springs, Newark, Penfield and Canandaigua for me. She didn’t give up. Jeanette Cooper made calls for me even though she doesn’t work in the Penfield facility any longer. My mom ended up in Clifton rehab. MVP insurance discharged my mom, but the rehab facility felt she was not ready. Nicole was there for me, once again with constant phone calls and conversations with Clifton rehab in order to work with them to release my mom. Gina, Nicole and Shelly were persistent in getting mom “home”. When she was finally released from Clifton she was in tears knowing she was going home!! My mom was met by her friends when she got home with hugs, kisses and tears. I received a call from Jason expressing how mom is right back into the routine of her day and he couldn’t be more excited. I’m so indebted to the Village at Atria/Willow Ridge! There couldn’t be a more amazing place! I am their biggest fan!

And here we are 4 years later at what is now The Village at Penfield. We continue to be grateful for the wonderful care and loving attention that our parents have been receiving. The Village at Penfield has truly been a blessing. What stands out the most is the genuine concern and respect that every staff member has shown for our parents. They are very happy there and know that people at The Village really care about them. One important thing to consider as family members of a resident is that the more you can get involved in some way at The Village the more you will likewise feel that the residents and employees are truly all part of not only a caring community but an extended family. Our parents moved there in Oct 2019. Upon entering the building our parents were greeted with “Welcome Home” and they really did! The place has a very homey feeling with a lovely living room and colonial style dining room with a beautiful large fireplace. We decorated our parents room with their own furnishings and decor and it looks like a mini version of the apartment they moved from and that has really been key for making them feel safe and comfortable. The staff at Atria is amazing! Everyone is genuinely attentive and caring with our folks. It is such a relief to know that they have immediate medical care if needed. The staff goes above and beyond with activities for special occasions and entertainment for the residents. This being 2020 and all the restrictions that have been imposed to keep all the residents safe we were blessed that Atria did a wonderful job of making all the residents feel loved and cared for especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. I can’t imagine our folks living in a nicer place.

I have been working at The Village at Penfield since March of 2023 and I love it here. We have the greatest management staff, always there for you when you need them. The staff is wonderful, so much fun to be around. We are more like a big family than co-workers. It makes it so nice to go to work each day with a positive environment. Even the residents feel like family.
