Fantastic!!! I wish I could give it more stars. All the staff are amazing, caring. It is a clean facility. The apartments are set up well, roomy. Mom is very happy here. I would recommend this to anyone needing a community.

Avista Senior Living is a gem. We would highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a place. The admin staff were extremely helpful to us in securing a room for mom. The facility is small which is perfect for an elderly parent who is starting to be confused and forgetful. The layout is such that she can’t get turned around when going back to her room. The facility is beautifully kept up, the rooms are always clean and they offer a lot of activities to help keep the residents actively engaged. There is a middle courtyard where residents can gather outside and where residents can let a pet outside. It is like being home to have the pets occasionally roam into the room to say hello. The care staff are extremely compassionate and friendly. Mom has made friends with most of the staff and it did not take long for her to adjust. The dining facility offers very healthy and good meals and the residents seem to enjoy the mealtimes as much for the food as the social interaction. There is an onsite beauty parlor which is so convenient. The staff manage all mom’s medications and medical needs. We literally have not had to worry about mom or her care once since she has moved in. Avista has given us peace of mind and hope for mom enjoying her remaining years.

Avista Senior Living (previously Windriver) was the nicest facility that we came across. We toured many facilities looking for the right one for my parents who were 85 and 89 years old. A very gracious gentleman named Doug was our first impression. He helped to fully explain the entire process of this facility and really set my nerves at ease. The best statement to me was "you get to be the daughter and not the caretaker." He was absolutely correct. I had such peace of mind after my parents moved in. They really enjoyed being able to be taken care of at this point in their life while also being independent in their own apartment. I am beyond impressed and grateful not only for the technical help and support they''ve given my parents but for the positive and emotional support. It''s heartwarming to see them interact with the people living there. The staff has such compassion for the residents. That place is clean, upbeat, and always smells nice. The director MJ and her amazing staff are fully committed to delivering a quality of care that meets the unique needs of the residents. Alongside laundry and housekeeping the onsite Nurses can also manage residents medications and they have an onsite beautician. My mom was thrilled! Their dining program is second to none; The Chef offers delicious and healthy entrees, desserts and snacks to choose from a menu each morning. When residents aren''t in their private rooms they encourage them to engage with each other with a wide range of entertainment such as musicians, games, movie nights and happy hour. Residents can have their choice of a studio or spacious one bedroom apartment; each with their own full baths built in emergency response systems and maintenance free lifestyle. I am so thankful for the excellent compassionate care my parents receive. The staff is wonderful and my parents and I feel very fortunate to have found this place. 💖

We love Wind River/Avista. It has been overall a great experience for my mom. She enjoys nearly all of the staff, and when she had problems with one, the director, MJ, took care of the situation immediately. MJ truly gets to know the residents and cares about their experience. Mom feels safe there, likes that it doesn''t smell, enjoys the food (which is rare for an institution), has fun with the empliyees, gets involved with the activities, and feels like she can be herself. Honestly, never thought she would do well in an assisted living home, because she''s so independent. Unfortunately, we will have to move her soon because they don''t take Medicaid. Heartbroken over this. Truly.
Read moreAll five stars. I would tell others that this was the only facility that we even looked at. It was clean and the staff were compassionate. Since moving in they have continued to be very friendly and efficient. I would absolutely recommend Windriver Place to other families looking.
