Not impressed at all! Slow response time and just not a place I want my Mom to stay!

Avante at Boca is the dirtiest place i had ben known ever, staring from the manager to the nurses they don''t care tour patient, finally is horrible place.

I spent 36 days here following an auto accident. When I arrived I feared that I would never walk again. I have been in two other rehab centers, and Avante BR has been the best of them. The staff was very professional with everything from personal care to medical needs to cleaning. Marie was amazing....

I spent 36 days here following an auto accident. When I arrived I feared that I would never walk again. I have been in two other rehab centers, and Avante BR has been the best of them. The staff was very professional with everything from personal care to medical needs to cleaning. Marie was amazing. The PT staff were great. Felix and Yolanda worked to strengthen my legs and improve my balance. Their instructions were clear and helpful. My only complaints are the powdered eggs for breakfast and the lack of fresh vegetables at lunch and dinner. Even so, I highly recommend Avante at Boca Raton. If I am ever in need of rehab again, I will not hesitate to return. Ronald Brugler

I would never recommend this rehab. They are not attentive, responsive, helpful, organized, proactive, well-staffed, or on top of their game. My tolerance level for poor performance is low and this place pushed me to the edge of the cliff. I will say that any positive reviews are made up and/or would have to be written by Avante’s staff. My mother was transferred to Avante from the hospital for rehabilitation. I was given two choices by her insurance and thought I would try Avante. The physical building is very old and the furniture is old. There is an odor lingering in the common areas that are not inviting and clean feeling. No one ever contacted me to give me a medical update or care plan on my mother after arriving at the facility. She stayed at this rehab for nearly 2 weeks, and no one ever explained a detailed care plan. I have experienced other rehabs, and this is not normal protocol. I had to call for follow up repeatedly and was constantly chasing staff to get answers. Calling the facility for updates was very frustrating because no one answered the phone, and it would take 5 or 6 phone calls to get anywhere. It was just terrible! I was constantly tracking people down and wasting tons of time trying to get answers or trying to talk to my mother to ensure she was okay since I live outside of the area. I was told there was a phone in my mother’s room that worked before she arrived, but that phone line never worked in her room. They changed her room to another floor and that phone line rang in other parts of the building and did not directly ring my mother’s room. During her entire stay at Avante, I had no direct access to my mother. It was terrible and caused much worry for me who. I was really upset that this facility created such a negative experience for me during a difficult time, and I would not recommend them. My mother was to be discharged on a Friday, but the staff dropped the ball and did not have all the paperwork signed forcing her to stay until Monday. The Administrator told me she would call back with transportation information regarding my mother’s departure on Monday, and she never called back. Once again, I had to chase people down to get information. This facility was understaffed, over-worked, spread thin, and incompetent. Some folks just did not care. The facility was not clear over the phone with transportation when they ordered it for my mother to return to her nursing home. An Uber was ordered for a frail senior (81 years old) with dementia which I canceled immediately. My mother needed medical transportation and personal care, but no one made sure she had the right type of transportation for her medical conditions. It was me who brought this to their attention and requested they change it. Like I said, the staff are not efficient or proactive. Medical transport was arranged finally, and my mother made it back to her nursing home in one piece. Sharing my story will give others insight and the freedom to make good choices. Plan ahead and have a rehab selected in advance that takes your family''s medical insurance, so when you need a good rehab for your loved one you will have it picked out already.
