We were visiting Portland for an event and unfortunately my wife fell and fractured her femur bone. After surgery at OHSU they sent her to this facility. I read some of the reviews and had some concerns about the level of care she would receive. We stayed for 18 days and received care that exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely helpful and caring. The only reason I didn''t give them a 5 star rating is because the facility could use a refresh and some of the equipment is in need of replacement.
Read moreOk somehow got booted after writing twice. I will post after I report this horrid place and the Dr for making false or out of context notes on medical record effecting my future and current care. Until then PLEASE don’t let anyone you care about go there. It’s beyond bad !
The absolute worst run facility I''ve ever seen.
Understaffed. Unorganized. Unbelievable lack of follow through from simple patient requests (a glass of juice) to unresponsive voice mails (and it''s extremely difficult to reach a live person), plus lost clothing and no reimbursement (from January 2022) as of today (4/21/22). Claimed it was sent, but based on previous evidence...well, I think you get my point. My recommendation: STAY AWAY!

My mom went here post op. Stayed a week. I personally liked the facility. It was clean (no smell), staff was very nice and accommodating to my mom. From the receptionist, RN, CNA''s, Social worker, everyone I dealt with were kind, caring and compassionate. I can''t speak to the food quality, as my mom had a feeding tube. I gave a 4 and not a 5, only because my mom was unhappy there. She didn''t like that is was an older facility and did not like that her bathroom, was shared by 4 people. She said it took forever for someone to come with she pushed her call button. Full disclosure: my mom is an impatient person. Also, I know there is a staff shortage. Most nurses were from out of state. They were all so nice and helpful. I have been a patient myself, at other skilled nursing facilities and if needed I would chose Avamere to rehabilitate.

I am a resident here right now and I would not recommend this place for my worst enemy. The place is old. The staff get an attitude when u ask for help. They take forever to respond to you once I ring the bell. I over hear staff telling residents to just go to sleep. Yesterday I told the staff that my sugar was dropping (I’m diabetic) and they told me to hold on and it took them about 15 minutes to come check my sugar. I am not to put weight on my right foot so I can only use my left foot and sometimes when I ring the bell to ask for help using the bathroom they never come. So about after 10-15 minutes I’m like forget this and I bunny hop to the toilet with my left leg. I can’t wait til my stay is done with. When I leave I will be calling the board on this facility
