Avalon Valley rehabilitation is outstanding as we experienced their care for our son in long-term care. Their guidance and commitment is also thoughtful and compassionate. Nursing care is wonderful as well.

If you or your loved one needs Skilled Nursing services, you can''t pick a better place! The Administrator and Director of Nursing are dedicated and honest people who truly care. Everyone SAYS they care, these people show it on a regular basis. The Director of Nursing has acute care background and has spent a lot of time training the nursing staff and as a result the care is incredible! The facility is well cared for and the team tries their best to help everyone have a good experience. The nursing team (CNA''s and Nurses) are wonderful people who go above and beyond on a regular basis. This place is AMAZING!!!

Do not put your loved one in this place! My husband has had to ask and then wait to get his pain medication. On July 31, 2021, they forgot to bring my husband dinner. At 7:30 PM when I called about him not having dinner they said they could offer him a peanut butter sandwich. As I was dropping dinner off, I noticed the car in front of me doing the same thing. He was not the only person that didn''t get dinner. Once, after asking to go to the restroom, it took them 45 minutes to come help him. Another incident: His bandages on his legs were wet, and he was cold. So he asked to have them changed. Over an hour later the bandages were changed. His bandage on his back is supposed to be changed twice a day. On August 7, 2021, it was changed once and only once on the 8th. On August 8, 2021, he was given buttered noodles, iceberg lettuce, and canned fruit for dinner; not nutritious. Upon hearing this I called, multiple times, and could get no answer at the front desk. My son took him dinner. My husband asked a CNA to hand him his cell phone and was told: "I put it so you could reach it!" My husband told him, "I can''t reach it!" There were words and my husband told him to get out of the room. The CNA was reassigned, that was on a Friday, and Sunday he had the same CNA. This is not a place to put your loved one. They should not have to battle the staff to get the care they are required. THERE ARE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE FROM STAFF AT THE FACILITY! Read that response from Avalon West below! Like I had high expectations that you would feed my husband dinner! You are not okay!

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN HERE!! I didn''t want to give ANY stars to Avalon Valley Rehabilitation, 2472 S. 300 E., SLC, UT!!! My 82 yr. old father was there in July 2013 for antibiotic IV therapy after his hospitalization for sepsis due to a hip replacement infection. He is too old to survive another major surgery. Avalon''s rigid routines are more important to them than patient care. Dad couldn''t even get drinking water without ice! He wasn''t allowed independent exercise (his habit). Encumbered by tubes and wires, he could not get up quickly enough to use the restroom when urgency arose. No one would clean his dentures for him necessitating soft foods, which were not normally served. No one applied/removed his compression stockings in a timely fashion for his heart-related edema. His Rx sleep medication necessitates IMMEDIATE sleep, as to wait has the opposite effect, making sleep difficult. Avalon insisted on giving this to him at 4:30pm (too much light, noise, etc) at the latest or after midnight, usu. 2-3am, due to staff shift changes. They insisted on watching him take it so he couldn''t save it for later. He contracted C. diff (diarrhea & vomiting) yet Avalon continually denied this (& kept giving him stool softeners!) until, desperate, I called Dad''s dr. His health was deteriorating (& depression was setting in) so we took him out of there, opting for a home health nurse & family care, as he lives alone. Avalon is in the business of warehousing/imprisoning people until their health ins. runs out. If patients improve, it is in spite of Avalon. I visited Dad daily to assist him w his needs. Pity the souls there who have no one to advocate for them :(

So I laid in cold room all by myself in the middle of the night. The head nurses were uncaring in a cold way. The aids were the nices people.
