I've decided to stay here at Autumn House East. I'm diabetic, and they just give me anything to eat - ice cream, sandwiches, and stuff like that. That just gives me more insulin because they don't give me a good diet. So, if somebody wants to come here with diabetes, they shouldn't come. The ones that can't come to the dining room, they give them their food in the rooms. And the ones with the wheelchairs, the nurses wheel you down to the dining room to eat and then they wheel them back up. All the staff here are very nice. My room is the worst in the whole place, that's why I'm getting a new room tomorrow. It's like a closet. The doors are angled to the hallway, which makes it hard to go out the door. The new room I'm having will be bigger, it will have a bathroom, and it'll be close to the dining room. The only activity they have here is bingo. They brought us all down there to go meet some animals. I thought it was to see a pretty dog, but it was reptiles, rats, mice, and snakes. It was terrible. There's a beauty salon and a library. There's a nice place where you can smoke. The building is old. You look at the ceiling and there are pipes on the ceiling. But in the newer section, it's not like this. I've been to the newer sections where we had activities like bingo, and it's pretty over there.

I moved into Autumn House East. I chose it because it has an available single-living apartment. The staff members are very easy to get along with, caring, kind, and helpful. They have a coffee get-together every morning. They have bingo a couple of times a week. They'll go on short bus tours. The lady who runs the activity is excellent. I'm in my own apartment. It's accessible, easy to get around, and large enough for me. I'm getting what I pay for.

Everything looked fine. People were eating and they seemed happy. They had places to sit, a library, common areas, and a nice cafeteria. They have doctors on site, which is good. It was close to a hospital and everything.

I like the area where the facility is located. It's close to everything which is super convenient. I've unfortunately seen staff be discourteous to my mom and communication is lacking. I wish they could get rid of their bad apples (the bad staff) and I also wish they had a nice place for them to go ...
