The tour I had at Holiday Aurora Pond was very thorough. The facility was spotless. Everybody seemed to be at ease and having a good time at dinner. I toured 2 of their apartments, and they were beautiful. One of them was furnished, so it could give you an idea of what it could be like. One of them had a small balcony that was very nice. So, my overall experience with touring it was great, along with the person who helped me through that tour. They had a library, a workout room, and a piano. I don't think anything was missing or lacking at that facility. You could also add on things like pill management or somebody to do your laundry if you can't make it. There were options to add on other services.

I'm currently a resident at Holiday Aurora Pond and I'm new to this community. The housekeeping seems to be okay. The staff has been great. The communication with the family has been very good. The meals have deteriorated from the time that I toured until now. The facility lost their chef and have been looking to rehire, but it has been over a month. I would be hesitant to recommend this facility based on the meals at this time.

Holiday Aurora Pond is near the mall on the other side of town. We like that one a lot, and we've been there two or three times. The staff who helped us, she's going to keep her ears open and look for a two bedroom, two bath for us because that's what we want, and they're hard to come by there. The residents were a hoot, and the lady that helped us was wonderful. The receptionists were great. We met the supervisor, and he was wonderful. My husband would like to have a full kitchen, he doesn't want to have just a kitchenette, so that's an issue too, that we have to be watching for. We met this young lady pretty much close to the entrance at a table. We could see up ahead on the left, there were lots of people coming and going into this room, but we didn't see what they were doing. The staff gave us a copy of their monthly schedule and it blew me away. I couldn't even do three of those things. That staff is a wonderful person to do that job. It was fantastic. The residents are happy and friendly, and I think they get that from Kristen, the person that does this for a living. She's that way and it rubs off on anybody she's around, so that was a good situation there. They have two washers and dryers on both ends of each floor. The staff said that it had not seemed to be an issue. When one person lives there long enough, you kind of know, that they didn't experience any difficulties with that. I would love to give it a five, but because of the laundry situation and the fact that they have kitchenettes and that they didn't know if they would even get a 2-bedroom apartment on the main floor, it just sucks. I loved it there. The atmosphere was fantastic, and Kristen was wonderful. The patients were in their wheelchairs and walking around and were very friendly. I have to give it a three, but I liked it there. There were just those issues, and I think Kristen's going to keep looking for us. She didn't even ask us for money for a waiting list. We saw some nurses, and they were very friendly. The director was very friendly, and Kristen hits it out of the park. She's fantastic, and the reception girls were wonderful. They just had it all renovated, it's beautiful and very lovely. They've done a good job. It was apparent to me that everybody that worked there worked with each other very well. They would talk to each other, and everybody knew everybody by name, like the patients, that was cool.

The biggest reason we chose Aurora Pond was the location, it is only 2 minutes from my house and it is also across from Walgreens where her meds are, it is close to the ER, etc. The convenience of it all if great. They also cook all of the meals so she doesn't have to worry about they. They are pet friendly so she is able to keep her dog. She got an apartment on the first floor which makes it easy for her to take her dog out. The apartment sizes are decent. They do not have access to garages, but she does not have a car so it works out and they do have a bus service so she can use that or we just come pick her up. There is a CNA on staff 24/7 if you need them. The call button with a GPS is also included in the price. She has met so many new people and is in a book club, walking club, etc. There is a lot of entertainment and she is keeping busy. She is adjusting well and so far it has been a positive experience.

Holiday Aurora Pond was very nice. The staff was friendly, and the residents seemed very happy and content. They are remodeling, which is not an issue because it will be done here shortly. We are considering that one. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and well set up. They have a variety of options in the rooms. Some residents were playing cards, there was a Catholic church service, and they have a very nice library. Overall, the facility was very nice. There is no cooking because all meals are provided. There is a medical facility on site that is a separate charge, but that is available for someone.
