Atria Glen Cove had a very good person who showed us the different levels of care and also the different rooms that they had to offer. The community was quite nice and well-maintained. The atmosphere was very nice. I met the manager who presented us with the facility and the rooms that they had available at the time. She was very nice and very pleasant. It seemed that the care of the people that were milling around the main halls was helped by nurses or assistant nurses, which was quite nice to see. They had painting classes, and they had patios in the back, which were very nice during the sunny days. There were a lot of people outside. They had little finger food for the people, little snacks and drinks - sodas, water, and juices. So, it was very nice to see that.

My aunt and I met with Judith for a tour and to gather information. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the cheerfulness of the staff and residents. Judith answered all of our questions with compassion and understanding of our particular situation. We were shown the studio and one-bedroom apartments which were lovely. Although my aunt says she isn't ready to make the move, I would not hesitate to move my mother there should the need arise. There were so many activities that would interest her...from writing workshops to newpaper discussions, and, of course, not having to cook for herself!
