Atria Copeland: Retirement Living
Atria Copeland aims to ensure its residents thrive in retirement, not just survive. This vibrant senior community offers 16 acres of gorgeous gardens, grand entryways, striking fountains and plenty of opportunities to engage with life. That might look different for each resident and that’s the point. Some enjoy exploring the culinary culture of northeast Texas with the Out To Lunch Bunch. Some enjoy joining community service projects close to their hearts, while others like to show off their skills in lively Wii Bowling tournaments, get social in the cocktail lounge or explore their creativity by painting. Area attractions like Lake Tyler, The Cascades Golf & Country Club and the McClendon House provide opportunities for fun, social connection and escapes into nature.
Whether they’re dining al fresco on the patio or being served in the main dining room, residents rave about the 4-star culinary program. The chefs here use seasonal, local ingredients to make scratch-made meals that rival anything in the area, from savory soups and cooked-to-order filet mignon to delectable country-style favorites and mouth-watering sweets. The kitchen team also creates menus that accommodate vegetarian, no-sugar and low-sodium diets.

They had card games and they actually would go out to restaurants and do cruises together. The residents were just very outgoing. Everybody said and asked how are you. The woman who gave the tour was also fantastic. She knew everything and everybody knew her. You could tell she was very, very involved.

Atria Copeland was very nice and the place was very well decorated. The residents seemed to be most happy to be there. The dining area was very nice. Their staff members were very cordial and very helpful, they showed us the various game rooms and TV rooms. If people want to, they can go down and watch TV in a group, and they gave us a list of activities that went on during the week. They take people out shopping on certain days of the week and they furnish meals.

I took my dad to Atria Copeland, and he liked it. The struggle was my mom. What I noticed is the people that lived there were out in the hallways mingling together. They all seemed very pleasant, and it didn't seem staged at all. You could tell it was legit, so I liked that. I saw maintenance in the hallways more than once, but not working. They just happened to be around, which I liked that, too. The ones who helped me the most are Elaine and Claire. Claire has been very helpful, very supportive, and very patient. I saw nothing unkempt, dirty, or anything. It was very well organized. I met some older ladies there that were like my mom's age. They told me that they'd been to other places in town and chose this one. They're very happy.

I believe this community is not worth the price. Ever since management has changed, the quality of service has went with them. The only that’s keeping my family member is the front staff. The day time care staff, cleaners and entertainment. Maintenance takes days to complete a simple task now, sales director is very incompetent. Be prepared to be on your four hours ged a bunch of lies. You will get bread at the end though. If only the effort put into the bread was put into our families meals. It’s ridiculous how they are always out of food and drinks.
