My husband went by ambulance 4 times in 10 days, and was discharged to home, (unable to walk and breathe) for 3 of those. My husband went by ambulance 4 times in 10 days, and was discharged to home, (unable to walk and breathe) for 3 of those. The competant MD, for the final visit, kept him because he was critical by then, awaiting an ICU bed.) We tried to get him brought to a different hospital on the 3rd and 4th ambulance run, but it is against policy. The nursing care was also hit and miss. Pray you don''t get the incompetant nurse with the bad attitude.

I injured a finger in my woodworking shop (painfully but not profoundly), and went to the ER at Aspirus Ontonagon. The on-duty nurse, Roger, was prompt, courteous, and professional, as was Dr. Liu, the ER physician. They cleaned my wound, ordered X-Rays to ensure nothing was broken, ordered an antibiotic, and administered a tetanus booster. My injury is healing the way Dr. Liu said it would, so I''m pleased with his diagnosis, treatment, and explanation.

Read moreIt’s a small, new ER, busy with several patients the evening I went. You’d never know the staff were overloaded with patients, it was very quiet in the waiting room. Too bad there’s no 24 hour pharmacy in Ontonagon. No weekend pharm either, so I had to drive to Ironwood Walmart for meds.
Omg!!!!! Amazing staff!!! Nicole was absolutely awesome!!! The Dr on call DR Paget was absolutely amazing!!!!! Y’all rock and thank y’all for being so awesome and caring!!! I’ve never been to an ER where patients actually mean something!!! Y’all deserve 10 stars!!!!!! Thank you again so much...

My mother in law was brought in by ambulance with a 6 1/2" to 7" cut across her forehead from a fall several week ago. We were immediately seen by Dr. Liu in the ER who was kind and caring. He explained everything thoroughly and ensured my mother not to worry. The suture came out a week later and it healed well. My mother was very pleased with the care she received.
