We went to Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care. I don't know if they didn't know I was coming, but when I got there, they didn't treat me like they did at the other place. It just didn't meet all my expectations as far as thoroughness. We would have probably chosen that one because it was closer to where we were going to be residing ourselves, but they never followed through. The lady during the tour was very nice, but I felt like she was hurried. They weren't as new a facility as the other one. They offered a salon and crafts. it looked a little bit like a tired facility. It was not dirty or anything like that, but just maybe needed an extra hand and sprucing it up.

My mom is currently a resident at Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care. There were several issues in the beginning. The director got involved at some point and the issues were finally straightened out. So, its much better now. Hospice and the social worker both communicate well. The facility is not communicating, but there is not a reason to at this time. The housekeeping is good, it's always clean. The move in process was pretty easy as well. Mom likes the food, they seem to have a variety and be balanced meals. This facility really is a beautiful place. Something that I think is also nice is that they have pictures of old Movie Stars on the hallway walls in mom's part of the building. I thought that was a neat idea. Mom's long term memory is good, so she remembers them. I would recommend Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care to others.

My aunt moved into Lakeshore Assisted Living and Memory Care 2 weeks ago. So far, everything has been very good. She has a private room, but it was a shared bathroom. They do not have private bathrooms available. The common areas are adequate, and they seem good. It's the memory care area, so it's kind of scaled down. The staff seems to be good, especially the supervisor- level people. There is an onsite beauty shop. They have ball toss games, exercise videos, tactile, and activity mats. But there needs to be more interaction to draw the residents out of their rooms. The physical condition of the building is good, and it is kept clean. It is an older facility, but it has been well-maintained and updated.
Read moreFrom what I can remember, Lakeshore had the dementia patients separated from the others and did not give them access to the nicer community areas. Way to nursing home like.
All the staff has changed. The few of the old staff that stayed are great. The staffing has been reduced to the point that care is suffering. I am looking to move my mom. It will be a long time before this becomes a resident centered facility again.

A lot changed between touring and moving our family member in. There had been some turnover - the director was gone, and so was the marketing director. But they've filled those positions, and so far we've been happy. They had promised a one-bedroom and then didn't have one available at move-in, but they were nice enough to give us a two-bedroom for the same price and then allowed her to move to a 1-bedroom that was closer to the dining room when it became available. She has Alzheimer's but is in the assisted living section, and they come to get her for meals. There's a nice PT and his assistant who give exercise classes three times a week, and they usually come by and get her for those as well. Since those initial changes, we've experienced a consistency of staff - it has been the same people day in and day out, which impresses me.
