Anthology of Rochester Hills was fantastic. Lynette was wonderful and patient, answered all the questions, took us through, and even tried to think ahead for us. The people were great. The apartments seemed very suitable. Of course, it's not home. You have to make it home and there's not a lot of storage. Everything was very well kept and very clean. We checked the dining area. It looked very nice. The food looked good.

My father-in-law has moved into Anthology of Rochester Hills. I like the way it looks. It's very nice, very new, very fresh, and clean. He has been there for over a month now. The staff are very, very helpful and very caring. They serve three meals a day, and you can get snacks whenever. I tried their Easter brunch. It was awesome. It was very, very good. They didn't spare any expense there. They got big shrimp, beef, and stuff like that. In terms of activities, I saw a local band, and they were playing the flute and different things there one day. They have bingo, and for memory care, it's a little different, but it's almost like they're in a class learning stuff. They also take them outside, and they have puzzles. The women probably had better fun because they do crafts and stuff. We got a really good price. It was all in. Nothing extra based on my father-in-law's level of dementia.

I toured Anthology of Rochester Hills and fell in love with that place. They're very modern and very upscale, but there's a homey feeling when you walk in. The person who gave the tour was fun, very knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. It's one of the more modern ones that I've toured so everything was pretty first-class. The dining area looks like a first-class restaurant. I talked to the chef briefly and he knows his stuff. They have an outdoor garden that's secure for memory care, they can get out but they have to be assisted to get out. They have a room with a big screen TV and they were watching a movie when I was there. They also have a puzzle room with card tables, and they have a big pet cat that just walks around. They're very active there. The staff there all stopped and said hi, they're very friendly.

Anthology of Rochester Hills was modern. For an active senior, that would be a good fit. It was much more contemporary. They had a beautiful room that looked like a modern restaurant that had wine bottles on the walls. It would be a place that you could have family come. I think it would be better for a senior who is used to a more active life but just needs some supervision now. It was more independent. They can come down and there's an area where they can get a snack if they want during the day. It's newer, so it's much more of a contemporary look. They showed me one room, and it was a good size. You could put what you wanted in there. It's a lovely place. It looked residential upstairs with their doors decorated and all. I didn't see a lot of people out upstairs in their bedrooms. They would come downstairs to socialize. One of the ladies in charge showed me around, and she was very good. They explained meals and they explained extra services. I think they had a gym, and they would arrange physical therapy. But my husband needs skilled nursing right now to try to get back to where he was, so this is not going to fit right now, but it would be a nice place for me. The staff was very proud of her building. She did a nice job with the tour.

Anthology of Rochester Hills was really nice and new. It just was really big, and it seemed like a hotel setting to me. It was decorated nicely. I was there over the holidays, just before Christmas, and it was really pretty. It looked like a great place. It probably was our top choice of the three we visited. I met the Director, and there was someone there from their corporate offices. They were very professional, very helpful, and nice. They did not have as much in the memory care section. We went through the assisted living on our way there, and they had all kinds of things. There was a game room and a wine club. The dining room was beautiful. They had separate meeting rooms that you could rent out for small family gatherings. They had pretty much everything you would need or want.
Read moreAfter a few days, clearly noted that staffing was a serious problem. Many day and nights shifts I discovered there was only caregiver or two for 32 residents. Staff was poorly trained and little accountability.
