My dad is going to Laurel Cove Community for respite care. It seems like a very caring community. The staff that we worked with for the placement bent over backward to understand our needs and get to know my dad who is going there. They were just very easy to work with, and we felt like they would provide a caring place for him to go. The facility seemed clean and organized. They had availability, too. The person who took us on a tour was very caring, knowledgeable, and interested in our needs. He worked hard to try to understand what we needed and tried to reassure us.

My dad has his own studio apartment! A hallway connects him to the common area, and an outdoor patio! Plenty of community time and alone time. Staff is kind, accommodating and patient. Shannon is the all-star activities coordinator who plans activities for the whole group and take the time to create specific activities for my engineer-minded father! She is a god-send. Padma and Lorenzo tag-team on day/night shift to help my dad shower, dress (if needed) and FIND his hearing-aids!! What would he do without those two? And then there is Ruth-the-medicine-woman; that''s what I call her. Always a smile; willing to find my dad for his evening pills even after we bring him back late after a night out with the family! Such attention to detail. Thank you to all the others who serve food, pick up forks, and clear plates for my dad. You have allowed my mom to resume her life! She is able to travel, enjoy her remaining years, AND visit my father without the stress of 24/7 care! Thank you Laurel Cove for assisting my family during this difficult transition. This is NEVER ease, but a peace of mind helps!

It’s always better to keep loved ones independent for as long as possible, but once they need a facility, you can do worse than Laurel Cove. The staff has a lot of turnover, even before the pandemic, so the good and bad employees normally aren’t there very long. Most of the staff are pretty helpful and my grandfather is pretty content at the Cove. It’s the little things that make an environment feel like home, like a meal that arrives at the table warm, a COVID at-home test help administered, or Sarenda’s consistent smile. We also appreciate that Shannon has gone above and beyond to facilitate my grandpa playing harmonica weekly to Memory Care, matching his passion to their enrichment needs and helping it to go smoothly.

My sister has been at Laurel Cove for the last couple of years. They have provided a caring, safe environment and are genuinely concerned about the welfare of their residents. Staff members that have been particularly helpful are Victoria, Shannon and Zeleka. They are all extremely responsive and do such a wonderful job taking care of the residents. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a quality assisted living situation at a reasonable cost.
