My mom lived at MTP for almost 2 years. From the time we first visited throughout her stay, the staff at every level was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They truly understand that the details make the difference and keep the facility clean with nice decorations in the common areas to match each holiday or season. The community has nice rooms, with different layout options to match each person's needs. My mom always felt safe and cared for here, which was reassuring to us, her children. Nothing was ever stolen from her room (we had heard stories from other places, but never had an issue at MTP). They have a variety of good meal choices that rotate so the food doesn't get boring. The activities director does a wonderful job and there is always something - music, speakers, games, movies, special events - to do each day if the resident chooses. The neighborhood is nice too, close to the park, library, and Catholic church, on a nice tree-lined street to go for walks. We are so grateful for the loving care my mom received while living here and highly recommend Mountlake Terrace Plaza to anyone looking for a supportive community for themselves or their loved one.

Mountlake Terrace Plaza is a smaller community. It has 80 rooms instead of the others that we had looked at which had about 160 to 180 rooms. Their dining room would be open from 7 am to 7 pm. Residents can go down anytime during that period and get a meal. So, there are no restrictions on time as to when they go to eat. The rent includes three meals and three snacks a day, which was better than a lot of the places. We also liked the price for the size of the room and for the quality of the room as they had been recently redone. We met with the director, Frank, probably three times already and I've spoken with him probably six or seven times on the phone. He's a very nice gentleman and very helpful. I like him. He's an advocate for the people who are going to be residents there. He respects who they are as people. We've met the activities director, the head janitor, and other staff as they go by. He introduced us to everyone and my father-in-law was quite impressed with him. Frank tells you a little bit about every staff member that works there and they all seemed to be quite happy there.

My grandparent moved here after leaving their home. The two women running this place were beyond unprofessional. The manager early on went outside looking for me to try to get a dig in after I had just left a card and flowers for the staff. Pulling me into the office attempting to chew me out, after scolding me out front while trying to check my grandparent in. Repeatedly chasing me out to my car in an attempt to give me a hard time. Only because I was trying to be there and support my grandparent, who was contacting me regularly asking me to come get them. They hated it there. Always told me how much they disliked the place and to come get them. I can’t say I blame them. I would cringe every time I had to go there to pick them up. The place was so awful. The constant staff turnover speaks volumes as well. I am FURIOUS with [name removed]& [name removed] for their behavior and the garbage they put me through while trying to cope with my grandparents dementia, and just trying to provide support.

I toured a one bedroom and it had a lot of space. It had a kitchen and a separate bedroom and that was nice. It was a nice facility. They had an exercise room and a little library area. They had different activities going on while I was doing my tour. They offered a lot including outings. One thing I liked was their food was more restaurant-style. You could come in any time during the day that you wanted to. There weren't any scheduled meal times. I liked the flexibility.
Read moreWe chose Mountlake Terrace Plaza because the director and the staff that we met were all very friendly and really focused on what my dad needed and how they could help us. Overall it has been a positive experience and I would recommend this facility to other families looking.

I went to Mountlake Terrace Plaza. It was nice but it was too small. I like the location. The general amenities were nice, but I thought the place was so small and cramped to me. The appearance of the rooms was very nice. They were of adequate size, but it was not what I was looking for. They had a beauty salon area, a barber shop area, and exercise facilities, and they were close to other outside sources of activities.
