If you love your mother, father or grandparent please do not take them here. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone. They were sub par before the pandemic and now they’ve hit a new low. When COVID was really bad throughout LaGrange county they shut their doors and didn’t let anyone in while the virus raged through the building (understandable at the time). They had extremely poor communication with the families while this was going on and now that they have no active cases (as far as we know) and the county positivity rate is below 10% they still haven’t opened their doors. All they are offering now is every resident gets 2 visitors to come together for an hr long period one time a week... what?!? Do they really think this is satisfactory after not even allowing Essential Family Caregivers (which was also a guideline most other communities followed) throughout the entirety they had their doors locked? I know per CDC and CMS guidelines that they should (with appropriate COVID restrictions in place) be open for 8 hrs out of the day for visitation. Other buildings have safely and with the proper restrictions in place, opened up because they realize how important seeing their loved ones is for their residents mental health, but Millers Merry Manor in LaGrange haven’t... why I ask... to me it seems they don’t want families in the building who will question their care and standards. Seems shady? I think so, but I’m sure they’ll say they’re trying to remain safe d/t COVID. If they knew how to manage their building properly they could safely open back up so, I’m guessing they don’t have their affairs in order. I called the Ombudsman who stated they have called multiple times with no return phone call from MMM and implored me to file a formal complaint with the Indiana State Dept of Health which I have also done. If they’re not held to the same guidelines other buildings are adhering to throughout this pandemic what’s it going to be like when it’s over? They’ll just be able to keep families out for whatever reason for who knows how long and have zero accountability. This is not an attack on the floor staff and people who have worked there tirelessly throughout one of the worst times in healthcare in my lifetime, you are greatly appreciated. I still would never recommend anyone bringing their loved one here.

This place is not good for anyone that actually needs day to day care. We had my father in here for a week and 1 day and we had to take him back to the hospital and he was admitted into ICU. His catheter had so much bacteria built up on it that the infection spread and he was completely out of it. Apparently it was never cleaned. He was also severely dehydrated. If your family nember is self sufficient maybe they would be ok but I would never chance it. Judy, one of the nurses, was very pleasant and actually seemed to care.

This is not a good place to work. Specially if you work anywhere but in nursing or the office because both these areas treat all the other employees like they don''t matter! Other then that the place is always clean and all the residents there are amazing people with amazing stories...
