Horrible management!!!! On a high horse and need to humble themselves, just horrible management.

My mother was here for just a couple weeks. I want to say first that we absolutely loved the staff. Every department. Everyone was so caring a genuine. The building itself definitely needs some work. Our family took it upon ourselves to “up do” our mothers room. They were completely fine with it and offered to help any way they could. We were very lucky that we were even able to visit our mother because of covid. The staff let us know right away about a new state program that after a training session allowed us in the facility to officially be apart of her care team. All 4 of us. We were so appreciative. It meant everything in the world to us. We were able to be with her in her last days. All staff I observed followed all covid protocols and we felt safe being there with our mother. The nursing staff, especially Tara, were fantastic I can’t sing there praise enough! She made sure our mother was as comfortable as possible and taken care of. I will say if you do have to put your loved one in any long term care facility that the newest place isn’t always the best and you should put priority on the care of the staff over anything else . I also want to mention that everyone seemed to be well fed with plenty of meals, snacks and dietary supplements. There were always staff present in the dining room helping residents eat. My mother was the center of our family and we were devastated when she passed. It really did help knowing that she was taken care of by a compassionate and caring staff. I would recommend them.

This is one of the most incompetent buildings that I have ever worked for! The first month I started working there I knew this was not the building for me. I chose to stay due to my husband and two co workers telling me to give it a few months, which turned into 2 years of horror. I was their Director of Social services and I was never able to thoroughly run my department, due to all the covering up they did. From the first week until the day I was fired, I brought up the horrible neglect of the residents. I was told from corporate as well as administrators that I was being negative and the residents were not neglected. Being that I was a CNA for 6 years I could not just sit around and watch these people lay in urine or feces while the cna''s were outside taking a million smoke breaks. They have had a resident die from heat stroke on the patio, when staff knew that she was out there on a 90 degree day, but said if she wants to sit out there she can, keep in mind this woman had dementia! I came in one morning and a resident was asleep in dried vomit. We had a resident elope the facility & I arrived at 4:45 a.m and the CNA''S were covered in blankets & with their coats just waking up! This resident eloped the facility with no shoes or coat and it was snow on the grounds & cold! Police caught him trying to find shelter in someone''s home & because he did not respond, they tackled him, ripping his ear and giving him a concussion! For months residents were walking around itching, a nurse as well as myself told corporate and administrator we believed they had bed bugs or scabies. We were told that it was dermatitis. Well dermatitis is not contagious and about 19 people had it! After the former nurse pressed the issue, they finally got 6 people treated for scabies! I started itching about a week later and I had scabies! I was livid!! A couple weeks later I saw a resident itching very badly, I noticed little bites and told a wonderful new nurse about it. She told the nurse practitioner which confirmed that the resident as well as the nurse had scabies! This is when they decided to treat other residents, but keep in mind they were itching for months. This is not made up. There were many residents that died from issues that could have been prevented (receiving the wrong meds. The administrator should have never been accepted for the position. These issues as well as issues of neglect in many morning meetings that resulted in write ups that she created from months prior! Every time I brought up the neglect in the facility, an hour or so later here she comes writing me up for things. It got to the point that I felt harassed. If I didn''t bring an issue up in the meeting then she was all smiles, but if I did I could guarantee that I would have a write up by the end of the day. This was told to corporate who doesn''t listen and only worry about paper compliance. They can say they care about residents, but I saw first hand the neglect and heard them(as well as DON) actually say the cna''s are bodies in the building and it shows they have staff. I watched admin during covid allow staff members along with their children come in the facility unmasked and tell me that some rules are meant to be broken. There are so many things I witnessed, I could write a book. The business office manager spends a lot of time hitting on the mds coordinator as well as a housekeeper and won''t return calls to families majority of the time. I have had so many families contact me because of this. I struggled daily working here because, as a healthcare professional we are here to make sure the residents live their days receiving the best care, love & compassion and also ensure their safety & well being is maintained. I did not feel like I could truly do my job due to the constant harassment from administrator & not being heard. I was so happy the day she fired me, even though she was wrong. I am now in my Doctorate program and I couldn''t be happier. Take care of your family. They also tell department heads to leave good messages on here to force bad ones to bottom.

Facility wise not sure you could possibly find a worse place for your loved ones care. Beds are outdated and in horrible condition, should have been replaced a decade ago. Smell is simply awful with gnats and flies making it unbearable. Had I been able to tour facility before placing my mother there(unable due to Covid restrictions) I would most assuredly not allowed her placement there, fortunately she''s home with us now. The majority of staff did seem to genuinely care for the patients and that is the only saving grace but best of luck trying to get them to answer their phones. For the sake of your loved ones, keep searching for another facility, they deserve better.
