The care is good & mom seems comfortable there. The price seems high but is online with similar facilities. We wish we had placed her closer to one of our homes though.

If your loved one needs the highest level of care, for instance two-person assist, Heritage Point offers the mechanical lifts necessary. They staff are of good quality and attentive. It's an unusual facility. Out of about six different places we've had experience with, I've not seen one set up this way. The community is fragmented into smaller segments of about 18-20 people in each one. So it's a more intimate set-up, which I've found has been a positive thing.

My friend is very comfortable at Heritage Point and content. It's a very clean and very nice facility. The only negative thing is the very first time I visited, he was at the dinner table with his food sitting in front of him, and there were staff standing around but no one was encouraging him to eat, unwrapping his silverware, etc. That might have changed - that was just one instance I noticed in the beginning. Overall, I think it's a wonderful place, and I would recommend it. As with any place, I do think that the family needs to visit frequently and check up on things.

We've been to Heritage Point of Oklahoma City. We had a very good experience with the tour. I went on two different tours and both were very informative. The staff was very friendly and very nice. Some of the residents came up and spoke with us as well. I was very impressed with the facility, and we would have placed my mother there, but their facility is full at this time. We had two different tours. The staff, I don't know what her title was, but she runs the facility, and she was very, very nice to us and very knowledgeable. Then the young lady that gave us the tour after that, she was the activities director, and she was really good. She walked us around, and she showed us the different activities that they do and the different services that they have. Between the two tours, it was an informative visit. However, we waited one weekend too long, and they booked up. They have arts and crafts, they have movies, they take field trips where they will go get nails done, they'll take them to museums, they'll take them to the library, and they have gardening activities. They were prepping the back garden area so that the residents could plant flowers, vegetables, and things like that. They have sing-alongs, they have exercise classes in the morning, and then they do cooking classes with them in the afternoons. The dining area was the central dining area, and we did not get the opportunity to taste any of the food. We were always there after meals. Their apartments were very clean. They were small; they were private. They had roll-in showers, which was nice. My mother is wheelchair-bound. They had storm shelter facilities in place so that if there were any storms in Oklahoma. We're famous for those, but they had action plans in place in case there was adverse weather. They have 18 rooms per pod, and they have three separate pods, so it is a small community in itself.

Heritage Point of Oklahoma City was very modern and looked well staffed. The person that took us around was very knowledgeable. He wanted to explain everything and what they did. Even though they didn't have an opening, he wanted to let us understand why they were a special memory care type unit. The only drawback to it was the pricing. The facility was memory care only. They all seemed very professional. I didn't get a chance to spend that much time with them though. It was very modern, but it was in an area that was crowded and the rooms didn't have much of a view. It may not bother my mother, but I like for her at least to be able to look out and see something other than a field or a parking lot. They had a salon and a courtyard, but I didn't see a gym. They had activities for them inside. It's just a memory care facility. I don't think they would need a gym. It was very clean.

Overall, its been a really great experience. The director is really great. The nurses always took great care of my loved one, even if she was resistant to their care. The Covid testing and restrictions they put in place were great to keep people safe. It was just really hard not to see my loved one with dementia for half a year. But that was Covid, and you couldn't really change anything about that. Heritage Point went above and beyond with their communication to our family. They answered calls day and night. They almost overcommunicated they were so on top of it. They would relay information in multiple forms - phone calls, texts, and emails. I would recommend them to others, and I have!
