The staff for the most part could care less most aren’t even American and obvious very little knowledge of anything. Just a job. Had to call 911 to get family member out of there by ambulance. Building is run down the food is horrible for even dogs. DO NOT put a loved one in this place unless you want them treated like garbage. Geez a shower once a week, people screaming for help /nurse for long long periods of time. Patients standing at doors asking any passers by to please help them. It’s a horror house.

My Dad was at Care One last year for 62 days before passing away. I visited him almost every other day and I must say that any request I made was never denied. At times, the staff seemed overwhelmed but always responded to me snd my Dad in a professional and compassionate manner. The administrative staff responded to any questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner. Having a loved one in any care facility is not a good situation but Care One made it as good as it could be. Only advice I could give is to have family & friends visit the patient as frequently as possible.

My mother was at this facility for one month. I would never refer anyone here! My moms plan if care while staying there was so messed up. She missed follow up appointment s due to "miss communication", what?! I was livid!!! How does is it that their is no back up plan when a worker is not able to come in?! How does a facility run that way!! My mothers mental health was definitely affected by staying there. The facility itself needs a major face-lift and the beds and medical equipment..is OLD!!!!! My mom has been home and has no care after being told that her case was referred for home care services. Now here I am leaving messages for the social worker and I get no response. This is absolutely TERRIBLE!!!!

It''s taken me a while to settle down before writing this. My FIL was here in early January because we needed somewhere for him to go in a pinch and they had openings (now I know why). But trust me when I say, we made sure this was the briefest stint we could execute. It became apparent pretty quickly that they are not equipped to deal with memory care patients. Now...I recognize this is a very difficult job and you deal with A LOT. But it was quite evident from the get-go that very few, if any, folks working there are actually happy with their job. I also understand that they are short-staffed, and that causes a lot of stress on everyone else. But when I tell you that 8/10 people are walking around with a major chip on their shoulder? I''m not joking. Ring the call button? They will come and turn it off and tell you to wait (30-40 minutes is unacceptable for someone who needs to use the bathroom). Need help with something else or have a question? No one takes responsibility and leaves the room "to go find the person" who supposedly can help you but never materializes. I heard the nursing staff in the hall talking negatively about patients and families regularly with no regard for who might be listening (not a good look). I witnessed a poor receptionist-in-training get completely berated by the woman who was training her while I stood there at the sign-in book (also not a good look). But one of the toppers was a nurse, who, as she was shoving pills into my FIL, accidentally dropped 2 on the floor. And they rolled. We were both scouring the filthy floor trying to locate them (pill counts matter, I get it). But when she finally located them, there was LITERALLY ZERO ATTEMPT to wipe them off (let alone replace them) - and she shoved them back into my FIL''s mouth. I stood there stunned but honestly feared retaliation for my FIL if I said something. The highlights of this place are the physical therapists (as stated by others) and our social worker was very helpful in getting everything processed quickly so we could move him to a permanent facility. And as if this wasn''t enough...the KICKER was that after my FIL left, my poor MIL got a bill about 2 weeks later for over $39K. He was only there for 2 weeks but apparently was billed for all of January AND all of February. When I immediately emailed about this (after already confirming the total, which was about 1/7 of this) I was told, "That''s how our billing works....our system doesn''t recognize when a patient leaves." I''m sorry...WHAT?!?! 🤯 What kind of scam is this? You just send out a $39K bill and assume folks who are in an already vulnerable position will just pay it because they are stressed and confused?! UNACCEPTABLE. The good news in all of this is that I know where NOT to send anyone who might be in need or asks. All of my Google reviews up to this point have been positive, but I felt strongly enough about this situation to leave this review. I felt I needed to warn others. And before I get the generic "We''re sorry you had a negative experience" response...don''t worry, we conveyed our issues to the social work and to the director of the facility. I don''t need you to be sorry, Care One - I need you to DO BETTER...for the sake of future patients.

My mom was in Care One Holmdel for about one month. She received good care from each staff member. The nurses were amazing and addressed every concern I had, thank you Gladys and Laura. Her physical and occupational therapists made sure she met her goals to ensure her safety when she came home.I gave it 4 out of 5 stars due to CNA staffing issues. Patients should not have to wait 20 minutes or longer for assistance to use bathroom. I definitely recommend them for care.
