This ain''t my first nursing home rodeo. I basically just got here, in my hometown! I''ve been treated very well and highly respect the nursing staff, which is why I''m speaking on their behalf. Yesterday I was informed that I was out of one of my medications. Once the nurse called the prescribing doctor - ( Dr. Mari Garcia)she chewed my nurse out for a situation that was HER OWN FAULT. She wrote some scripts on Friday afternoon, then HER fax machine and staff didn''t verify it reaching its destination. So the doctor told my nurse that this facility was at fault, without checking her facts. My roommate was affected also and in tears and frightened on top of it. The doctor compounded the problem by being argumentative instead of helpful. Denice Jackson

I am a consultant dietitian wrapping up my time with Belen Meadows and have nothing but positive feelings for this building and this staff. Having worked in nearly 10 LTC buildings across 3 states, I am impressed with the operations at this location. Many of the staff (including nurses, social workers, activities, food service director, etc.) are members of the Belen community and have spent years working at the facility to uphold their reputation. That is rare is an industry that functions largely on agency nursing and other transient staff. The atmosphere is active and social with the activities department going far above average to host daily events that get everyone involved. Sad to leave a work environment this tight, but glad to know that it exists.

I was there in August and September 2021 and I''d like to say that I was very well taken care of. The nurse was so caring and professional. The aids on the floor were more then hospitable. Anytime i needed something they were right there. The physical therapists I had were exceptional. They worked so hard with me and i was so impressed with their patience. Tessa, Shanon and Laura were so helpful and patient with my physical therapy. I would highly recommend this place and I would defintely come here again.
