My mother has been at Balboa for a little over a week now. She''s 94 years old and took a fall. She also suffers from dementia and had a stroke a few years ago. So far everyone here seems to be very caring and my mom has been well taken care of.

If I could help convince any / every Veteran requiring Physical Rehab'' services post op'' after a major surgery - to AVOID all attempts by ANY Social Worker to place them in this facility, I''d make it my life''s future goal, I''d work this mission daily to insure the VA or Balboa Naval Hospital never sent another patient too this NON-ENGLISH Speaking facility... to this white on white on white on white - non pictures on walls, neglectful, 6" too short beds DUNGEON - ever ever again. This is no place for a disabled Veteran to be sent, period. Im not embellishing my notes I was transferred here on 26 November around 8pm. I had to call my Attorney at 9pm to arrange transportation so I could escape AMA - post bi level triple lamenectomy and fusions of L4-L5-S1 Misgendering & ignoring a severe impaction with rectal bleeding situation and no bed resources that would accommodate my body, having no Staff Members fluent in English that night are paramount in my complaints with being called Me, Sir, Him and He repeatedly as a close runner up... Pictures note the used rubber gloves used when an attendant wiped my bloodied rectum that never found the trash can, only the floor beside it and the too short bed. Do not send your Veterans here

Read moreI was housed here for a month or more, and could not have had better treatment; the Staff was excellent in making decisions and taking my feelings into consideration.
My mom was extremely ill when she admitted to symphony of Crown Point. We were worried about her. However, the staff was welcoming and put our worries to ease! Staff and management were professional, quick to respond to concerns, and provided great care! I would highly recommend sending a loved one...
