My mother, was admitted at the Woodward Hills location on Friday, February 9 from the hospital She is a Parkinson patient and has recently had a Peg tube inserted for nutrition and medication. Myself and my husband were here 6 pm awaiting her arrival. We were told by front desk staff that she had not arrived. We sat for over an hour when I asked the front desk staff to please check to see if she had been brought in from a different entrance. My mother had been I her room for over an hour. She had a plate of food in front of and was soaked through the bed. A kind LPN assisted me with changing my mother and getting her out of her waste. She has pressure sores healing on her bottom and there was no covering but did put on cream. We did not meet with her nurse or were briefed on how her medication and feed would be handled. The next morning February 10, I arrived at 9:30. Her brief had been changed from the night before, however she was soaked through the bed. Again myself and an aide helped me change my mother. There was no coverage on the wound. The aide alerted the Wound Care team who did come and dress her wound. She stated they would be checking the wound daily. February 11, I arrived at 9:30. When I arrived my mother was covered in feces and urine. She was soaked through the bed. There was no nurse or CNA on the floor. I waited at the nurses station and asked to speak with the Supervisor on duty or the DON. He, myself and another aide who had just cleaned up another patient came in and cleaned up my mother. Families leave their love ones in the care of your facility. This is extremely disheartening and disappointing that patients who cannot help themselves are being discarded and compassion and simple care is not being provided. My mother has the been blessed with having caring family members who are concerned about her quality of care. Elders should be treated with dignity and reverence. There is a lack of communication and transparency within this facility. I was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted at the lack of care and compassion my mother received at Woodward Hills.

If you need medical care, this is not the place to come. Therapy department is great, everything else is horrible. Call lights go unanswered. Basic human needs such as holding a cup of water for a patient who can''t do it themselves. Cleaning them, brushing teeth, don''t expect any of that to happen here. If you are unable to get out of bed they just ignore you. Family shouldn''t have to be there every minute to make sure they are treated properly. My brother was just taken by ambulance unresponsive to the ER. He is currently in the ICU due to complications from severe dehydration and overdose of pain medication. This facility has no business calling itself health care. I hold them completely responsible for this, I told them repeatedly he was dehydrated and he couldn''t hold the water cup by himself they would have to offer it to him when I couldn''t be there.

He’s positive energy is contagious. All of the staff has been friendly and helpful. My husband’s physical therapist Kahn has been helpful, encouraging and knowledgeable. My husband, Larry is doing better physically than he ever expected to do this soon. Thank you, Kathy Cory
Read moreThe concierge named Dave Nurse was extremely helpful when he offered to bring my car up to the entrance. I use a walker to visit and every step is challenging. Great job Dave and thank you for being there.

The place looks nice. There are fancy cars galore in the parking lot on Sundays. The staff is generally kind, patient and responsive to patients. The patients look well cared for. There are lots of organized activities for them. The front desk personnel are all wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The food is decent. However, the caregiver staff makes occasional mistakes, some of which can be alarming. You MUST visit frequently, speak up, and monitor your loved one''s care closely. Mistakes occur largely because communication could be improved amongst the nursing staff and between the nursing staff and the family. During a stay of over a month, I never once saw or heard from the doctor who was responsible for my loved one''s care, including during a brief hospital visit ordered by this doctor. He is clearly not an on site physician. Though the therapy staff was very pleasant, PT and OT results for my loved one were minimal. This was very disappointing. Under NO circumstances should you leave your loved ones with any cash or valuables. To Woodward Hills'' credit, we were reimbursed for the items that went missing from my relative''s room. Note: Double check ALL discharge prescriptions and instructions to make sure they are correct and complete.
