The laundry person doesn’t lose her clothes and get clothes back promptly. The food is actually quite good and the staff is excellent with very little turnover. I recommend it highly. Gail Greenfield

Memorial hospital transferred My Father here the very first night I called and spoke to somebody to make sure that he was going to get fed and his medications I was told yes. Then 9:00 I receive a phone call from my father stating that they were not feeding him or giving him his medications so we had to go pick him up something to eat plus I was getting no answer at this facility so I called and had a wellness check done. Then the next day they''re calling asking for us to bring his sugar checking machine now mind you this is a facility to provide medical treatment for elderly care. A couple days into this place my father fell out of a wheelchair and hit his head what bothers me the most when I got to the hospital that they transferred him to he said to me he didn''t know how long they were going to leave him there laying on the floor. Then we made it decision not to send him back to this facility. My family and I made sure that he received his medications and food at my house. Folks if you love your loved ones do not put them in a facility as this one failed to comply and deliver the necessary care for our father. After talking to a team of lawyers if you have money to put your loved one in a facility that can care and provide the medical attention that they need I recommend doing that. Research and read the reviews before you or a caseworker makes the decision of where your loved one is going to be placed.

My 88 year old mother was a patient here after a sudden and serious medical issue. It wasn''t my first choice, but it was the better of the only 2 options I was given. I will put it simply - if you have anyone in your family who needs to be in ANY nursing home, understand that 1) the medical field is understaffed, underpaid, and underappreciate 2) most nursing staff are burned out 3) if you don''t stand up and advocate for your family member, no one else will 4) it is your responsibility to stay on top of everything. That being said, Woodland Grove is not where you want your family member to go. While there are a few good staff members they are the minority. I saw people ignore calls for nurses when a patient fell in a communal area - there was no urgency to respond to cries for help. There are so many patients, the doctor (and I use that term loosely) doesn''t know who her patients are - I got a call from the doctor who started talking about my mom''s medical situation only for me to point out she wasn''t talking about MY mom...(HIPPA violation - an egregious one). The "social services" lady was a joke - completely clueless, and called me on a Wednesday saying my mother was being discharged on Friday to go home... my mom who was not able to care for herself and who lives alone - being sent HOME. Be aware that you need to stay on top of everything - if you see an issue - say something to the person on staff but DOCUMENT every issue you see and share those concerns (in as much detail as you can) with the Administrator for the facility. Don''t be afraid to speak up and be forceful - again no one cares about your family member more than you... patients there are not much more than numbers. My mom was left trapped in a wheelchair she couldn''t get out of by herself for hours with no access to a call button or a blanket and no one checked on her. It happened multiple times. I had one person thrown out of my mom''s room for treating her like an object - she wouldn''t speak to my mom, just pushed her one way then the other to "help her get dressed" like she was a doll or mannequin. I saw much more concerning stuff too - that should have been reported to the ombudsman, but I was focused on getting my mom out of there. I would not recommend this facility, or it''s "sister" facility (The Isle at Fleming Island) to anyone. Issues I saw: 1) facility is not clean 2) Several missing blinds in the window in a room that looked on to the parking lot - complained day 1 and it was never fixed after 3 weeks 3) Food is mainly from cans and by the time it is served to patients it is generally cold (that is, if it is should be hot), and cold things are warm - I am 100% sure that no staff member would want to eat the food that was served to the patients 4) It could take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes (or more) for someone to respond to the nurse call button/light 5) No one ever communicated with me the plan to get my mom discharged... after the fiasco with the social services lady, I was told that the nursing home starts day 1 planning a patient''s discharge because otherwise people would just linger in the nursing home forever... but the only instance anyone talked to me about it was 2 days before my mom was supposed to be discharged - again to a home where she lived alone when she was OBVIOUSLY incapable of taking care of herself.
