Purchased a place for my father here and he is truly living his best life now. The view from his window is incredible and there’s lots of opportunities to meet new people and participate in activities
The Alta Marina Restaurant at Sunrise Point can not be beaten for an enjoyable dining experience. The view is great, the food is great, the service is great, AND there''s no tipping or tax. Leanne and I are averaging twice a week eating there - exceeds any restaurant on Beech Drive. Ray Spletzer

This review is long overdue. Chef [name removed] is one of the premier Chefs on Florida’s West Coast. Managing and preparing food for our Alta Marina Restaurant and 1926 Bar, Chef [name removed] menus are creative, inspired and attuned to residents’ requirements. His meal preparation is excellent and the presentation is artful. Chef [name removed] monthly country-themed meals are a wonderful food adventure providing a special food experience for residents. The Alta Marina is fine dining in the most beautiful setting in St. Petersburg. Though understaffed, Chef [name removed] insures maintenance of his high standards for quality even if it requires him to bus tables and serve meals. Thank you, Chef [name removed] for your excellent contribution to our quality of life at the Shores!

This facility used to have a long waiting list. Now there are occupancy issues which they seem unable to resolve. 30% rate increase in 6 years has put it out of my price range and I understand has caused residents to seek other living communities. There are ongoing dining issues including cutting back on meal portions, choices and planning to eliminate breakfast all together. My parents were in a high end CCRC and I would have moved them immediately if they had half the rate increases that Westminster Shores has had. These increases are significantly out of proportion compared to other like facilities in FL.

I moved to The Shores in July 2021 and I am so glad I did. It is a welcoming community with a wide variety of experiences available including trips to the Rays games and concerts plus lectures and movies on site. And being right on Tampa Bay is amazing. There are often dolphins swimming near the shore and all manner of seabirds. The staff is very caring and the amenities including a fine dining room and wine bar are excellent.

In the 14 months that we have lived at Westminster Shores we have found it to be a terrific place to be. The staff here is very customer-oriented, truly committed to making this a great experience for residents. We have an excellent Executive Director who has been building a great team. We had a good move-in experience with a complex set of things that the staff helped us pull together to make it all happen. The positive experience with the staff has continued ever since. The Shores campus is very compelling. The water views of Tampa Bay and Little Bayou are outstanding, with a sea wall for walking around the property that makes the best of all of it. The buildings are attractive, the landscaping well-kept and a set of activity sites for those looking for exercise. Activities abound - there is virtually something for everyone, including connecting with the many opportunities in the St. Petersburg area. There is a strong sense of community among those living here - we felt at home from the moment we arrived. Part of this is due to the strong Residents Advisory Council and many other committees and organizations that encourage resident input and involvement in the life of the Shores. Our living unit is exceptional, with large rooms, high ceilings, up scale appliances, lots of closet space and killer views of the water and city sky line. Our building has a great dining room, a high-end restaurant(Alta Marina), a wine bar, a well-equipped fitness center and a living and learning center that is a focal point for all kinds of programs, lectures, exhibits and social events. We truly feel that we are part of a community of very interesting and interested people. We never seem to run out of things to talk about and things to do together. We encourage anyone looking for a dynamic CCRC environment to come and check us out!
