Would not recommend to anyone, this facility just does not care for their residents. No compassion or empathy and most if not all nurses are rude even to family members. They have disrespected my family as well as my loved one in the facility and no one does anything about it. They cover each others lies and mistakes regarding care for residents. They didn''t keep up with my family member''s hygiene like bathing or even changing his clothes. He would wear the same dirty clothes for a week straight and no one did anything about it. They just use medication to keep residents "under control" and make their shift easier. Just a horrible facility.

My husband was there with Alzheimers - make no mistake, the actual care givers are darlings and were the kindest people I ever met and took great medical care of him. Over 3 1/2 years I saw the "for profit" aspect of the center reduce staff enormously until the caregivers were worked to death. Also it has the MOST inefficient office staff of any organization (and I was an admin so I know how things should be running). Also very rude business office manager as of this date. Over these years they cut nice activities like holiday meals for the residents - the food went downhill badly - and the activities ladies who were trying so hard had a drastically cut budget. The caregivers however gave my husband great attention and went out of their way to make him less anxious about being there and I will always remember them for that. How I wish they were better treated.

My father was transferred to this facility after being treated @ Danbury hospital. The whole goal of him going there was to get him feeling somewhat better & strong enough to come home. However, the opposite happened though. His health deteriorated so much so that we had to request to have him transferred back to the hospital. His experience at Western rehab was a complete nightmare. He did not get the care that he needed at all. He was in terrible distress and complained numerous times and none of the workers did anything to help when it was obvious that he was suffering. I would never send a family member there again. Most of the nurses are cold & don’t take initiative to help their patients. Their reasoning is that they need “doctors orders” to do anything! My father spent more than a week there only to have his health deteriorate to the point that he thought he was going to pass away! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!
