Staff was very rude!
The worst hospital that i have went to my whole life

Dr. Cowans was unprofessional in his deliverance of the medical care he provided. He was sloppy, came into the room and plopped himself over the patient table. He did not read the chart before he came into the room. In the 15 minutes he was in the room he told me no less than 20 times “I don’t prescribe pain medication.” I was there on one visit to establish care for a primary care Dr(PCP) the 2nd time I had Blood Pressures running in the 150-200 and was having Headaches and blurred vision. He wanted to send me to a neurologist for B/P problems! He told me one of the medications I have been on for years “they don’t make this” he called me a liar! I had already taken the bottle in for him to look at it previously. The staff were unprofessional in their treatment of the flow of patients. Both times they were gathered together in a room talking and laughing ignoring the patients.

Saturday 10/31/2020 while riding the Warrior Trail System I suffered a heart attack. This Hospital was the first choice we had. I had phenomenal care and the staff went above and beyond to get me ready for a Life Flight out to Beckley. They immediately diagnosed and prepped me, administered pain relief medicine to stabilize me for the flight to Beckley. I’m been told all the people from Welch to Beckley to my second Life flight to Lexington KY did everything by the book. And I’m here to give this 5 star review. Thanks to the ER staff 10/31/2020.

The people at the hospital were quite kind, however the service and quality of experience was unsatisfactory. I went in with my father following an ATV accident while we were out of town and he received a chest x-ray and was informed he had not broken anything. A few days later my mom rushes him to the ER when we are back home, and further scans revealed he broke 5 ribs. Service also felt quite slow for 9:00 o’clock at night but I’m not sure who else they might have been attending to. The people were kind but the service was insufficient
