My tour experience at Walnut Grove was good. The apartments were small and not very modern. They only had balconies on the park side, and I require a balcony. It was a pleasant facility. But it was kind of old-fashioned. It didn't feel modern. It felt elderly. The apartments were not very appealing to me. The person who gave the tour was great though. They offer three meals a day, but they are all buffet, and I prefer not to have all buffet food. That turned me off. The dining area was very nice and very open. The food smelled great. The layout was good and clean, but it was just not very updated.

I liked Walnut Grove for myself. I was just kind of worried about the step up in case down the line I would need a higher level of care. They didn't have the facility for that, they just had people that would come in. The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the pond that had fish in it because it was very pleasant and relaxing. The whole place was very pleasant. The meals were really good, and the people were very friendly. They had a wine and dine that was good. They had a unique theater setting and a nice exercise room. They had a schedule for games, cards, and other activities.

The apartments at Walnut Grove were really nice, and they had lots of extra things. They had four meals a day. Somebody would clean your apartment twice a month. There were emergency contacts in case you needed medical attention. They had their own little pharmacy and exercise room. They had a calendar of events. They had transportation, if you needed it. The lady that gave us the tour seemed really knowledgeable about the home and their activities. She explained to us about the meals. She also explained that they had a program where if you traveled around the United States, there were other communities you could stay at in different cities.

Walnut Grove Retirement Community gets 5 stars across the board, this is an amazing facility that I would even live there. Based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend them to other families .
