I placed my brother there a while back. The front people were nice and at first, my brother was clean when we went to visit. That started to deteriorate very quickly. I would go and find him soaked in urine from the mid shirt down to his shorts, eyes not clean. I was told that he didn''t have his teeth cleaned, not even with a sponge because I hadn''t requested oral care. I didn''t know I had to request that. My brother who is nonverbal sobbed with me during a home visit. I asked him pointed questions and he wouldn''t quit sobbing, he got louder the more I asked. We would go and find him in the nurses station with his wheelchair wheels locked, with a large group in the same position. I''m glad I acted, took him out and found him a place where he''s actually comfortable in. Veranda took care of my grandparents and for that, I''m grateful. My brother was miserable there. The amount of urine makes me question their techniques? You''re either very busy and in that case they need to hire more staff, or you neglect somebody who can''t speak for themselves, or you''re lazy? It''s not my problem to fix because my brother is happy.

My experience at Veranda with outpatient therapy is excellent. All staff PT/OT/ST have been accommodating and helpful with their overall care with me. They helped me recover after my recent hospitalization from my abdominal and asthma issues. I was previously receiving services at a outpatient clinic in Brownsville and did not receive the great care and customer services, like I have here at Veranda. All their time and attention has been greatly appreciated.
