It''s been a total of a week and the issues keep mounting. My stepdad suffered a SEVERE stroke and was sent here to receive care via Kaiser. Within the first day, the feeding tubes were clogged and he developed pneumonia. My mother and I were the ones putting ice chips in wash cloths to cool him off. After another week at Kaiser stroke unit, he was sent back. The second day I went to visit, the toilet from his catheter was overflowing, he has severe sleep apnea, nurses were informed and a CPAP machine was on and right next to him but never placed on him. Few days later and my mom called him, he said he was falling off the bed yelling to the best of his ability for help. No one came. He was given the wrong food, which if he ate, he would have choked on since he is still relearning to swallow. PEG was leaking onto the floor, a CNA fed him liquid through a straw which is AGAINST doctors orders as it could cause him to aspirate. Again. Why keep him here? Why is he being ignored? I understand that in acute rehabs, nurses don''t check up on patients that often, but this is getting out of hand. I don''t blame any nurses but the facility itself. Do better. These aren''t just warm bodies to fill your beds but loved ones with a family that will advocate for them.
Read moreThis place almost killed my mom My mother had to go back to the hospital cause an infection I wish the close the place down These people work for a paycheck They don''t care about their patients
This place does not care for most of its residents. The more older and senile get treated like garbage and get ignored. Sometimes they even let the patients sit in their own waste
The nursing staff and manager were horrible. The physical therapists were good, but not enough to make up for the very uncaring, unresponsive nursing staff.
Do not send your loved one here. Family next to ours was placed in front of nurses station so their father could receive immediate care. The patient fell twice. One of the caregivers moved my dad and now his knee is swollen. And now can''t do his physical therapy for his hip surgery!
