There are no adjectives strong enough to describe what an awesome experience we''ve had at The Waters in Rochester! From the first encounter, they took the time to learn her likes and dislikes, and what she needed to feel independent, supported, and maintain her dignity. At every change in her mental capabilities, they reevaluated to make sure they were doing everything in their power to safely let her make decisions. The activity department is second to none! In 4 years, I don''t ever remember Mary and Marybeth repeating a Table Talk! They''re fun, energetic, engaging, and make topics easy to follow. We enjoyed all the music, pet therapy dogs, massage therapy, outside entertainment, field trips, etc. over the years, too! The room has high ceilings and the community areas are beautiful with 2 fireplaces, pool table, exercise room, 2 kitchens, and a warm inviting TV area. The food is chef prepared and offer great selections. If there was anywhere better for our mom with dementia, she would have been there! We loved our 4 years at The Waters and thank you for all you''ve done for our mom!

Our parents lived at TWOM for seven and a half years, until our father''s passing this past June at age 90. We know this place INTIMATELY. TWOM was a WONDERFUL home for them: * a beautiful, modern apartment; * a fantastic building with every amenity; and * an incredible staff of skilled, caring workers who routinely went above and beyond to help our parents make the best of their senior years. Our folks sampled it all, from independent living to memory care and every step in between. We never regretted their years there, and will have to be very fortunate to find something similar when we reach an age where we could use some help.

If I could rate this any lower I would. They are hard to deal with, don’t have their residents best interests in the first place. Their memory care promises to do checks on these residents who are unable to do for themselves every 2 hr. Checks but but are unable to do such a simple task. They expect these disabled residents to ask for help but they can barely speak because they are in a memory care center. But these RA’s are more than happy to sit down and join a resident watch TV, 3 RA’s to 1 resident. I could go on and on as I would visit my husband daily and have to ask for his brief to be changed or once call at 11:00 p.m. as by my camera his bed was empty and they had no idea where he was. No do not think this is the best place for your loved one. Sally Neeb

My mom (Arlene) was at The Waters in the memory care area for the last year plus of her life. We were lucky to move her in the October prior to COVID and had the opportunity to get to know the residents in her area as well as the staff. Attending the many coordinated activities and events with her were not only great for her, but something fun for our family to do with her as well. The "Mary''s" (activity directors) are SUCH a joy. When COVID hit, it was a comfort to know that the staff followed all precautions but also spent extra time with her, she wasn''t left alone. Not only did they spend extra time with her when we couldn''t, they went out of their way to help connect our Facebook portal (definitely recommend getting one of these for your loved ones) for us to do video calls with her while they weren''t allowing visitors. When mom passed, the respect and love the entire staff showed was incredible. It moved our entire family - and further proved that they had become a part of our family by taking care of our mother when we couldn''t. Next to saying goodbye, moving a parent into a facility is one of the hardest things a child will ever have to do. I couldn''t have asked for a better place for her to live at the end of her time here and would recommend The Waters to others in the same situation as we were.

My parents were some of the very first residents to move into the Waters on Mayowood when it opened in 2015. They thrived there together for five years, before my father passed away. The facility itself is comfortable, beautiful and bright--a place almost everyone would be happy to be. It is also a warm and welcoming community of people. The staff has also done an amazing job of navigating challenges related to COVID-19--and it was a huge comfort to know our parents were at the Waters when quarantine set in. The staff didn''t just "do their job" and clock out at the end of the day: we felt they very sincerely tried to help residents and families as much as possible. I know everyone is looking forward to events and programming restarting, and I know the Waters will make that happen as they are able to do so. Has been the best choice for my parents, and our family as a whole.
