AND THE PAY IS MUCH WORSE! YOU ARE DOING MORE WORK AND LESS PAY!! JUST SAYING! THIS PLACE NEEDS A UNION FOR REAL. I PRAY SOMEONE DOES THIS ASAP! Some of the residents that I have worked with! THEY ARE NOT HAPPY! They pay ALOT OF MONEY TO BE THERE! Results: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

I went to The Village at Mariner's Point. I loved the location and I loved the view, but I didn't love the price. It's assisted living, and the price is close to $5000 a month. I don't have that kind of money, and there are no minorities out there, and I'm a black woman. That's one reason why I wouldn't even consider them. The staff seemed very competent and nice, and they're all minorities. Only the people that work there are minorities. I had lunch there, and the food was very good. They have a gym and games. You could take a walk around the complex. Every day, they have something going on, so that seems like a nice part of the plan.

I would say that this place is recommended if you are a first time CNA. Based on the circumstances of the environment, I believe that anybody can work this job based upon how management does not care how you perform your job. I was doing great until I did not receive a my first paycheck for 7 weeks. The executive director is one of the most careless women I have ever met in a facility and truly does not care for those residents. Every time I clocked into work my heart would break based on how unsafe the residents were left in their beds and chairs. I would find myself running around doing the job of 3 people because the other girls I worked with on night shift would just sleep the entire shift. Call lights would be going off for 40 mintues as I clocked in and it was MY responsibility to get it, but that wasn''t my shift the light was ringing on. My belongings were stolen from me (my jacket) while I was at work and when I brought it up the the Executive director she blocked my phone number and email. Residents are left in soiled briefs for 7-8 hours at a time. I worked here for exactly 6 months before I finally said I can''t work the job of 3 people anymore. Sometimes you can not always be the hero in facility''s like this. Since I am a young teenage girl with a CNA license, the residents used to cry to me about how horrible they were treated and could not wait for me to clock in. The LPNs and Registered Nurses that work their are so ghetto as well. Constantly dropping the N word in front of residents and calling residents the N word. That is not how you speak to residents within a retirement community. I don''t know how anyone still has a job here. The building itself is disgusting, I honestly do not know what housekeeping does all day. The place is infested with cockroaches crawling all over the first floor. I would not recommend putting your loved ones in this facility if they need extended care, it is dehumanizing towards any human, including the workers who actually care for people.
