The Residence at Watertown Square: A Step Above
Imagine living a casual, worry-free lifestyle that includes a chef to cook five-star meals any time of day, a dedicated activities coordinator to pack days with joy and laughter, and caring staff to help with any tasks that have become difficult. The Residence at Watertown Square offers exactly this — a safe space where seniors can build the type of life that makes them happy. Residents benefit from a dizzying array of daily activities — a typical one might include a tai chi session, a flower arranging workshop, an exciting lecture on the Galapagos, a theater performance, and a happy hour social. But, of course, seniors can always ditch the activities program to do their own thing, too, whether it’s enjoying the overstuffed library, getting some sun in the courtyard, or trying out a new hairstyle in the on-site beauty salon.
Life is just as rich beyond the walls of the community. Residents enjoy hitting the links at Oakley Country Club, seeing the sights at Saltonstall Park, strolling on the Charles River Greenway, or attending concerts and plays at The Dorothy and Charles Mosesian Center for the Arts. The Residence at Watertown Square is also just 30 minutes from downtown Boston, which means access to some of the country’s most exciting attractions.
Live a Chore-Free, Worry-Free Lifestyle at The Residence at Watertown Square
Independent living at The Residence at Watertown Square means an easy, chore-free lifestyle — housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, and meals are all included in the rates for the lovely residences offered here. Seniors who need a little extra help for daily personal care tasks will find discreet, expert care for things like medication, bathing, dressing, grooming, walking, and more.
The Residence at Watertown Square’s renowned Reflections Memory Care program shifts the focus from the disease to the person. This award-winning, non-pharmacological approach is fueled by the Five Principles for Vitality: Continued Learning, Arts & Culture, Physical Fitness, Community Connections, and Wellness & Self-Care. In addition, every staff member is certified by the National Institute for Dementia Education (NIDE). These caring professionals provide individualized attention and lead a wealth of initiatives designed to create joyful life experiences, like the Expressive Arts program, where seniors use art to communicate their desires and feelings when words fail them.
The outside world has noticed — the Reflections Memory Care program became the first senior living program to ever receive the 2022 Hope on the Harbor Award from the Alzheimer’s Association.

Holiday Summer Place was very convenient. The units were beautiful, and they had a beautiful dining hall. Everything was perfect. If there was one thing that I liked least about it was they didn't have medical people onsite that could help my mother. I had to bring that in from the outside. So, that was really the only downfall. The staff was excellent. John, the manager, was outstanding. He has actually followed up with me several times just to check in and see how my mother is doing. I thought everything was outstanding and very well cared for. Everything was clean. He showed me a few of the units that were available. Everything was updated. Really, all you need to do is put furniture in.

The Residence at Watertown Square was nice. The staff was good. The rooms were clean and neat. We had lunch there and the food was quite nice. I didn't go into the residents' dining area because I was only a visitor, but they put me in a small room outside. Everything looked wonderful. Nothing against what they had. Everything looked wonderful but small. There wasn't any garbage on the floors or anything, but I haven't seen them do a daily pickup of laundry or anything.

We visited The Residence at Watertown Square for our friend and we were only there for the tour and it was impressive. It's seems like it was well planned, and they have a beautiful setting. It's convenient to a Dunkin Donuts if they want to venture out, there's a CVS, and convenient to a few local retail stores and restaurants outside of the facility. It's just a short walk. I did not see much, it was only a tour, and during this COVID the bistro is close. The dining area is a very nice setting and I love the bistro idea. Then there's the regular restaurant with two patios, one for the memory care, and the other one for independent and assisted living.
