The Palmerton was a nice place. I already know people that are in there, one is in assisted living and the other person is in memory care. The one in assisted living is pleased with it. He'd rather be home, but he knows it's impossible to be home. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. The rooms were private and semi-private. The private room was big and the semi-private room had two beds in it, and they were both nice. My friend said that the food is good. The menu looked good. You could choose from different items on the menu. They took us through the dining area and people were eating at the time and it was nice. They hold church services, they have bingo and crafts, and they go on bus trips. They offer a lot of different things. They have a library there. I feel comfortable if my sister-in-law would go there.

The Palmerton was very organized. We had to sign in upon arrival, and we had to log our temperature. We had to wear masks and there was a questionnaire about COVID. The facilities were spotless. Everything was absolutely immaculate. They had different sized rooms. The smaller rooms seemed a little cramped. The larger rooms were decent sized, but they're immaculate. They had walk-in showers and grab rails. In terms of interactions, we were very impressed. The gentleman who took us on the tour, as we walked around, was talking with everyone. Everyone knew him, and he knew the residents by name. There were residents out and about and actively engaged in activities. There seemed to be a sense of life there, which we were happy to see. The people who worked in different departments took time out of what they were doing to talk to us. My mother-in-law needs a pureed diet and the staff spoke to us about it. She explained that it would not be a problem. She answered our questions. We spoke to the speech therapist, their activities director, and the physical therapist. They all took time out of what they were doing to talk to us, asked questions, and answered any questions we had. They're very accommodating. We were very impressed.

The Palmerton is a lot smaller than another place we went. There are very few memory care patients compared to the other one. So it's not as big an area for the memory care residents, but it's still very nice. It's very clean. When we were there, there were not a lot of people in and around there. We did get to look at the rooms. The rooms seemed a little bit bigger, and the bathrooms did have bathtubs or showers. The amenities were nice. They have a salon, they also have physical and occupational, and speech therapy. Their outside area was not as large for the memory care residents. However, it was secure, so no one could walk off. The residents were included in any of the outings that the other residents would go on in assisted living. The staff is very nice, we met with the person who gave us the tour, and we met a few of the nurses that were in the memory care unit. I think a lot of the residents were at a religious service, so there weren't a lot of people down there. The staff was sitting with one or two of the residents that were in the common area, but they seemed very nice. We met them and we met the chef. She was very nice. They were a little more willing to work with us financially if we needed to.
Read moreThe staff are extremely friendly and good to work with. And I'm very satisfied with the care my family member is receiving.

We are happy our loved one is here, we feel that she is getting really good care. The meals from what we have seen seem to be very good and they are trying their best with the activities while still keep their residents safe.
