Mom “walked” into the facility 9 weeks ago. And she “had” the ability to toilet herself as long as someone helped her out of her chair. At present, it appears the last 9 weeks have had her on the fast track to losing control of her bowels and becoming bedridden. I dont know that I can fault the quality of the aides, nor the quality of supervision the aides receive. Fault may actually lie with the corporate board of directors, (profit) if they refuse to adequately staff with aides, or adequately pay aides. Turnover in the facility appears to be atrocious. The administrator, assistant director of nursing, and customer relations, availed themselves to me, to learn of the areas of neglect I have observed. They seem genuine in their efforts to turn things around. I respect the fact that they did not play the “covid card”, (which seems today to be a license for providing disappointing service) to rationalize the lack of proper care.

I don’t typically like to go in nursing homes, but this one is different and is inviting and comfortable

I was not impressed with how they take care of their residents when I came to visit my grandpa. I wanted to confront the nurses on why they haven’t made him change clothes or bathe since he has dementia and cannot fully take care of himself. I understand there can be struggles with some residents but your duties are to care for people. I saw one of their nurses come in to tend to my grandpa’s roommate and they threw stuff at him and was like “here ya go” then shut the door on their way out. He was pulled out of the home to go home but he has to go back somewhere again after his last hospital visit and these guys immediately said NO DON’T BRING HIM BACK instead of offering to help us find another location that serves his needs... Take your love ones somewhere they can actually get the care they need.

I was here last week and saw the new management in action. Liz interacted with all of the residents and was extremely pleasant and encouraging. Dow was busy, but took time to acknowledge others with a smile and a kind word. Christian atmosphere. Clean. The staff was friendly. I would not think twice...

I would not think twice about putting a loved one here (I would not have said this in the past).
