The Oaks at Paso Robles was a nice facility. The staff was young and a little bit undertrained. The building was fine. It's a brand-new building, so they kept it up pretty well. Mom was in the memory care and they have the typical amenities. They have bingo, they play games and puzzles, and they have activities. Just the general activities for seniors to keep them busy. So, that's a good thing. It's just ridiculously expensive and we are getting better service now at another facility for less than half of the amount of money that we would be paying at the Oaks.

I toured The Oaks at Paso Robles. It's a beautiful place. It's very well put together. It seems like you're at a resort. I felt like I was at a resort. The only problem is it's built on a hillside, so there's no there's no outside grounds. It's just dirt. There's no landscaping. So, if you were a person that liked to go outside, this isn't the place. But if you're having memory care probably it would be fine. It's new, so it's very nice. I like the rooms very much. While I was visiting them, I never saw any caregivers. I just thought that was so weird. I didn't see anybody rushing to a room or, it was like you were in an empty hotel. And just in a few of the public areas were some of the people, like they might be eating a snack or playing some cards or something. The staff was very nice, I met the chef, and everybody seemed to be very nice and outgoing.
Read moreI went with a friend to visit their father. The rooms were homey and clean. Staff very caring. My friends Dad said he was happy here.
I've called this place tree times to get information and I've yet to receive a call back. Asked for rates and the lady on the phone stated she didn't have that information, { if she doesn't know information, why is she answering the phone.) Not impressed.

They check on them frequently, to make sure that they're okay. The place is very clean and very well kept. The dining areas are very nice. The chairs are padded and they have good dining service. My mom's room is good. It's a one-bedroom and it's brand new. It has high ceilings and it's quiet. She's quite happy with it. They have a whole list of activities that they do. There's bingo, wine nights (where they drink wine and socialize), exercise classes, puzzle time classes, movies every night in the great big room, sewing, shopping trips, daily newspaper delivered to them, dominoes, church, and a chapel.

We visited The Oaks at Paso Robles, it's very modern and kind of fancy. There are no natural surroundings, they seem more artificial. During the tour, the staff was friendly and informative. They had everything that the other place I toured had, they had a restaurant, an activity room, and a theater. What I like least is that everything's spread out. It's a long building and the dining room is too spread out, depending on where the resident would live.
