The Meadows Senior Living is an assisted living, independent living, and memory care community in Elk Grove, California. The community offers a wide variety of support services, including assistance with each resident’s activities of daily living, medication management, and housekeeping. Many older adults choose the Meadows for their long-term care programs, but temporary respite care and adult day care are available by request.
When residents apply to the facility, they may request a one or two-bedroom apartment. The community offers a variety of floor plans, giving residents options to choose from. One-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments offer:
- Private bathrooms
- Kitchenettes
- Closet storage
- Emergency call systems
Twenty-four hour care is accessible to all residents, regardless of their living type. Knowing help is only a button-press away gives the Meadows’ residents peace of mind, ensuring their health and well-being throughout the night. In addition to twenty-four hour staff, the Meadows’ assisted living services and amenities include:
- Restaurant-style meals served daily in the dining room
- Quality-of-life amenities (laundry, linen services, etc.)
- Recreational activities (arts and crafts, game nights, etc.)
- Incontinence management
- Community rooms, where residents can spend time with friends and family members
The community does not offer skilled nursing care, however their supportive services are extensive. The staff work with each resident one-on-one to understand their needs, and a care advisor helps create a day-to-day care routine for each individual. A resident’s level of care determines their living style, as decided by a care advisor. Self-sufficient residents may be well-suited by the independent living program, which offers less structured care routines than assisted living but the peace of mind of twenty-four hour care.
When a person living with short-term memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, or dementia moves to the Meadows, they may consider the memory care residence as an alternative to assisted living. Like assisted living and independent living, the memory care residence offers private apartments with one and two-bedroom floor plans, but the staff offer a different variety of support services.
Transitioning to a retirement community can be challenging for adults living with Alzheimer’s disease. The Meadows’ dedicated Alzheimer’s care residence aims to change that, providing residents with a safe and comfortable place to live with memory loss. Memory care residents are welcome to the communal meals offered in the assisted living community and they are invited to the community’s wide variety of recreational activities. The Meadows staff create a nurturing environment for older adults with Alzheimer’s and dementia to thrive, making the community a popular choice among local older adults with memory loss.
To learn more about the Meadows assisted living community, prospective residents can schedule a tour to see the facility in-person. The tour includes walkthroughs of a one and two-bedroom apartment, giving prospective residents and their family members a look at the Meadows’ spacious living environments. The staff are happy to answer questions and can explain in-depth about the facility’s respite care services, Alzheimer’s and dementia programs, and assisted living options.

The Meadows Senior Living was good. The person in charge of the tour wasn't there because she called me and tried to reschedule, but I couldn't reschedule, so she had someone else give us the tour. She was very nice. They were going through remodeling, so they're bringing in new furniture. The rooms looked nice. The model room had furniture. It had a little kitchen area, a bed, and closets. It was nice.

My father has been at The Meadows Senior Living for several months now. For the most part, it's been pretty good. It's a nice facility. It's clean. They have good workers. It's a good environment overall. It seems to be a happy place and people seem to be doing OK. He has his own challenges, but all in all, it's a good place to be. They have a person in charge of activities. They have activities for them for Thanksgiving and this upcoming Christmas. They seem to be on top of things when it comes to keeping them active. There are some things I think that maybe they should be a little bit more on top of. The facility in general is clean, but sometimes I don't know if they cleaned the rooms up and what is expected of them as far as the carpeting, the bathroom, and that kind of thing. Everybody seems to be very cooperative and wanting to work with you. I haven't had any issues with the staff members. They're going through a lot of construction, and I had an issue with his room, but overall, I think it's a good place. He has some issues going on now. Once he kind of gets settled, I think everything should be fine. We'll just keep taking it one day at a time.

The Meadows Senior Living is very good and much cheaper. I can tell that the staff are very friendly and in high spirits when I went there and talked to some of them. It's just not that spacious and it doesn't look very bright but still, it is very acceptable. The good thing is that they charge $500 less than the other facility we went to. They have a variety of activities. They also serve meals, but when I looked at the menu, it doesn't compare with the other one (because they charge less so everything is less). Still, the level is acceptable. It's just that you pay more, you get more. It appears to be a little bit more lively and crowded because there are more people there. Most of the people are workers. They are not residents. They have more assistance there and more people doing things.

I liked The Meadows Senior Living very much. The facility was brand new and it was absolutely beautiful. It was very, very appealing, very airy, and very open. I liked the areas where people could sit and have coffee at any time during the day, maybe play cards if they wanted to, or just sit and visit. They had a very nice dining facility where you could eat what they had prepared. Or if you didn't like what they had prepared, you could order something off the menu. They would provide as much care as you needed. If you needed care with your housekeeping or if you needed meals brought in to you, they would do that. They also had buses that ran to shopping centers and pharmacies. The lady who gave me the tour was extremely nice and helpful.

When it comes to the cleanliness it is clean but right now they are dealing with cocktail roaches. The friendliness of the staff members gets a 5+++ everyone is very friendly. The quality of care is much better then moms previous LTC facility. We cannot rate the meals and dining because we are not sure they have experienced the meals yet. The staff members work hard to keep residents in MC busy and occupied. The value for cost gets that rating because assisted living is very expensive.

The Administrative staff are very responsive however the nursing staff seem to be in a power struggle with each other and the residents. Many (not all) are not patient and do not listen to the needs of the residents. They tend to treat them all the same although their physical and cognition needs vary. Compared to other communities in the area, for the value it is clean and the rooms are decent sized. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend them to other families, howeverthey would need to be actively involved in the care of their family member to hold staff accountable.
