Mrs. Pam, Mrs. Pam, Mrs. Pam!!!!! She took a lot of stress/worry off of me, almost instantly. She has a warm heart and goes ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! She deserves major recognition because its rare these days to still have people like her around. Mrs. Pam was comforting and firm on the assistance/knowledge she provided me. She made me feel that my mom will be in good hands.

My mom called me tonight to say she had been sitting on the floor since 6:00 and no one has come to help her get off the floor. she said she had been screaming for some help and press the button, but no one was answering her. My mom asked Could I come here and help her off the floor Please help her off the floor. Immediately call the location an answer from the service and explain to the lady upfront that my mom was on the floor and needed some help. She told me she was going to send my call to that nurse station.. the phone ring several times so I hung up and called back. no one was answering the phone and my mom is still sitting on the floor and I’m on my way.. The phone went back to ringing again, and it rang until I was on site. When I entered the facility, I saw two nurses at the end of the hall above my mom‘s door. I asked the nurses who was helping my mom off the floor. The nurse explained it was not her patient and said I don’t know. How unprofessional is that? The other nurse hunched his shoulders and continued working with her . When I got in the room, my mom was sitting on the floor. She looks like she was in pain. I went back to the nurse and asked her who was going to help my mom off the floor and again they both looked at each other. I don’t know. This Was the worst care for elderly people I’ve ever seen . my mom is 91 years old broke her arm four weeks ago. She came here for some assistance and this is what she get from the night staff. I have to admit the daytime staff seems to be all over it and very professional . I think something should be done about the night staff if you need more or training. I believe it was a manager that came in and took my statement and questioned the nurse on duty . They got my mom off the floor and put her back into bed. X-ray technician came in and took photos. I spoke to the staff and I got the same demeanor from the two nurse upfront, as they just didn’t care.

Staff really cares about their patients/residents. Great communication from all staff! Admissions (Pam)was the very best making transition easy. Billing (Emily) was polite and kind. Nurses and PA''s were caring, thoughtful and very attentive to our dad''s needs. Highly recommend this facility.

OT and PT I would rate a 5. However there was a lack of communication from the social worker and unit director. My mother was there for over 4 weeks and the only call I received was to tell me she tested positive for COVID. I never got a progress report of any kind. We were told she was to be discharged on 1/19 so we arranged for assisted living to start around that date. The assisted living was informed that discharge aimed wasn’t until 1/30. Again I was never informed by the Laurels. Transportation to the assisted living was never obtained by the staff at the Laurels. They did let me borrow a wheelchair and oxygen tank so I could transport her myself. My mother liked most of the staff although she said that one person was rough when changing her. Sometimes they helped her brush her teeth other times they didn’t.
