Exceptional Assisted Living and Memory Care at The Landing of Silver Spring
The staff at The Landing of Silver Spring includes a health and wellness team (including RN and certified caregivers), a full-time program supervisor and a chef, plus visiting physical, speech and occupational therapists. Team members are around 24 hours a day to offer support for emergencies, medication management and personal care tasks (showering, dressing, grooming and more). The Opal memory care program at The Landing of Silver Spring empowers seniors to live with dignity, independence and joy, no matter where they are on their dementia journey. Before move-in, seniors and their families help complete a living document called “54 Things About Me,” from which caretakers learn their stories, likes and dislikes. Opal is based on Teepa Snow’s GEM levels, the Positive Approach to Care and the seven pillars of wellness — seniors benefit from therapeutic activities and chances to socialize, express themselves creatively and have new experiences.

My dad was here 6 weeks and he had a bed sore and no body knew about it. When we went to a doctors appointment the doctor found that he was dehydrated and had a UTI and the staff did not know. They wrote him a prescription and staff did not give it to him until a week later. Whenever he calls it takes a very long time for them to answer him. They are disorganized and communication is not good at all. We are not happy with the care he is getting.

I am not satisfied with The Landing. Anybody who is planning on putting their loved one here, particularly if you are planning on using the Opal which is the dementia care facility, it really is just assisted living with dementia care which is a big difference. There have been many issues because of this lack of care/inadequate care. I feel they did not correctly evaluate my loved one because the prognosis has not changed and they are saying they are not equipped to care for my loved ones needs. I am extremely disappointed, I think their marketing was very dishonest and now we are having to look into different facilities to move to.
Read moreI liked this community but I feel like they went to far by giving me a price before evaluating my loved one. It made me not want to go here.

We chose The Landing at Silver Spring because of the friendly staff and the respect they give each other as well as the vibe of the tour was really good. Everybody I have met is bright, caring, and willing to help. They have been great with communication, if there is any questions or concerns they always call me right away. I know that they have a lot of activities provided for the residents, but she does not participate in them. The facility is newer, so there are openings. I know that she is safe and that gives me peace of mind. The facility is on a plot of land and the landscaping is beautiful and they also have a walking path that is very nice as well. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.
Read moreMy loved one seems to be doing well here. They have a set menu for the residents to choose from, and my loved one seems to enjoy it. Some of the activities include bingo, movies, and more for the residents to choose from.
Excellent tour and delightful staff. The facility is beautiful. I would live there! Staff was very knowledgeable about the facility and very enthusiastic about the work that they do.
