My Mom was a resident of the Arbors for almost the past 2 years. After living alone in her own home for the past 40+ years, she was reluctant to make the switch. After her health dictated she could no longer safely live alone, the Arbors was quickly available to welcome her as a new resident. From meals, to care, to cleanliness, to patience and friendliness working with her, I realized she was in capable hands. A health downturn dictated the need for her to move to the reflections unit (memory care) and the staff worked with me to make the move as smooth as possible. Once again it put my mind at ease that she was safe and well looked after. The nursing staff worked within the medical restrictions they had and at the appropriate time assisted in referring my Mom to the Hospice program. Mom received excellent care through her recent passing. The staff and hospice made accommodations for my Mom to remain at the Arbors until she passed. All along the process, the staff was available to make my Mom comfortable and to also keep me updated every step of the way. I am sure my Mom was grateful for the care and attention she received. And, I thank the administration, business department, and particularly the nurses and care staff for not only taking care of their resident but also caring about the resident''s family.

September 2021: I live out of state and had been in New England many weeks before I got my parents to try a three-week trial stay at the Arbors in Taunton. After only a few days, Mom was saying how much she loved the Arbors but Dad was counting the days until they could go home. After I was home, my Dad told my cousin to contact me to see if they could get a permanent apartment. One call to Brendan and they were on their way. After only two weeks, they are happily living at the Arbors. Dad keeps saying how much easier it is to live there than at home. They both love the staff. February 2024: I just got back from visiting my folks again. This time we moved them from the Traditional area of Arbors to the Reflections area of Arbors. In the Reflections area, they will get double the amount of nursing care, periodic welfare checks and a closer dining room. This move was necessary because they are both in their 80s and both have dementia that requires extra nursing care. I put my parents on the waiting list for Reflections months ago. Patty Ricketts, the Arbor''s executive director, had two apartments available in Reflections. I chose the one with the same layout as their old apartment. With dementia patients, fewer changes are better. Patty made the move easy. Also, the maintenance team of Joe and Walt quickly moved their drapes to the new apartment and replaced the faulty microwave with a new one. Mom still attends activities. Dad attends them as long as he isn''t the only man there. After 63 years of marriage, they still walk around the Arbors holding hands. Thank you to all the Arbors staff.
