TerraBella Asheboro was very nice, but it's much smaller than the other place. They have an area outside, but it wasn't very big. The staff who toured us was very nice and very personable. They seem to know all the residents very well. The dining area was small, but it was very nice and very clean. The rooms were very nice and very clean, too. Most of them are semi-private rooms where you have a roommate. For activities, they have little stations. They have like a station where they can practice doing laundry, they have a music station, and they have a coloring station where they can color. They have a calendar of daily events that they do with the residents.
Read moreThe staff that I met with during my tour were extremely friendly. To me, it felt institutional and I wanted a place that was going to feel more like a retirement home to mom. I think the facility may be the perfect fit for some, but it was not for us.

It was rough at the start. But as we were there and got things adjusted - and it did take some adjustments - she finally adapted to it and turned things around. And it's going very smoothly now. I have no problem with any of the staff. The only thing I've run up against, and this could happen anywhere, is my loved one would not take off her expensive necklaces. She had a nice pearl necklace and a gold cross necklace, and those were both gone within the first two weeks. But overall, she's doing much better here than expected. We were told she wasn't expected to make it past December, and she's actually doing very well there under TerraBella and hospice's care. I'm very pleased.

I absolutely love the place. They are taking excellent care of my daddy. I feel so grateful and blessed to have found them. He is doing very well there. They got him up and on a walker, when he wasn't even trying to walk beforehand. They are encouraging him in every way. He's started singing lately. One of the nurses has a special kind of love in her heart for these people, and you can feel it. It's like it oozes out of her. She has been so helpful to me in so many ways. I can't say enough good things about her. She knows my loved one in the short period of time that he's been there. She has grown to love him, but she knows exactly how it is too, which is great. The administration changed, and I think they're going through a buyout. So they are going through some changes. One thing I will say is they're having a lot of trouble with the telephones. It's hard to get anybody to answer. And instead of the office staff, they're expecting the staff that cares for the patients to answer. I know a lot of places are short-staffed right now, but they seem to pull together and get it all done for the most part. They just need a better answering service. But overall I love the place.

It was very nice. The regular lady who does the tours and the admissions was on vacation, so there was a lady filling in for her from the company who came up from Charlotte. They have a schedule of activities, there's a library, a conference room, but they're closed down for COVID. That would be where people with family members would have to meet the residents. They have outside areas and one was for the lockdown unit, which is the memory care unit. The assisted living was not nearly as restricted. They were doing some work and they were going to be doing some outdoor landscaping and paving.
